TPMS and Work Emotion Wheels

anyone have a set of Work Emotions and transferred the TPMS to the work wheels? not sure how to go about this? I am planning on getting my wheels and suspension installed this weekend and want to know exactly what to expect.

the tire shop will do it.
they remove the sensors from your current wheels and put them in the new ones.

FWIW, Honda will not warrant a failed sensor if it's in an aftermarket wheel.

I had my LR TPM quit communicating 1 year after it had been swapped into an aftermarket wheel. After the service tech spent 2 hours determining that the sensor was not communicating, I was told that they couldn't allow a warranty claim because it had been installed by a non-certified tech in an aftermarket wheel. I appealed to the Service Mgr. ...claim denied. I appealed to the district service guy....claim denied.

So, they spent 2 hrs. in service labor and another couple of hours administering the denials of my warranty claim which would have cost them approx. $30 for the sensor assy + 1 hr. in service labor and kept a long-time customer happy. The consolation offer from the service mgr., after all this, was: "Since we've taken so much of your time trying to get this warrantied, I feel bad, so I'm going to give you a break on parts & labor and replace it for $125" A BIG FU to Honda Mall of GA

I went to Discount Tire in Gainesville, Ga and had a new TRW (oem) sensor installed for $47.00.

It's kinda good to see these type of post once in a while.I tell people all the time that bring up the Magnason Moss act It's not so easy to fight corporations without spending tons of money on lawyers.

With my Mustang I had new Wheels with sensors installed and did not need a reset. It's such a rip off and most tire shops have the tool to reset and will often do it for free.

the dealer is 100% in the right to deny a sensor problem if you have swapped the sensors to different rims. not only have they been removed and placed in new wheels which could have damaged them (every tire shop i go to has a notice saying it is possible to break them and they are not responsible), but 99% of aftermarket wheels are not designed for sensors to be put in them..even though they fit.

the magneson moss act woudl not be valid in thi sscenario anyway.

its much more applicable as an argument in the..."i changed my exhaust and then my tpms sensor stoped working" warrenty claim. lol

the problem would be rim design on the wheel... that's why I ran my Work without TPMS.

double check tho as I was fast to say "f*ck it* when the issue was raised on me LOL.

ok so i have driven about 700 miles on my new wheel/tire combo and i had the stock TPMS sensors transferred to new wheels. I just received the "TPMS" light on in my dash and it is solidly lit not flashing. Any idea what this means? i would think if the sensors were damaged and/or not installed correctly this light would have come on rather quickly after the install.

Any advice? i am going for an oil change in about 2 weeks, will the dealer be able to fix this without raping me for new sensors?

I went a full year before I had this happen to me. The other 3 sensors are still working fine. In fact, we put the same kind of wheels on my wife's Fit and her sensors have been fine.

I hope that your dealer recognizes you as a customer and treats you accordingly.....mine didn't. I will never go back there again! Not even to buy a crush washer for my oil drain bolt.

If your dealer won't warranty the sensor, you are better off going to any reputable tire store in your area to get the problem fixed.

could be a bad bump since my roads to work suck. the reason why i dont think install error is because it took 700 miles for it to go bad. i just hope my dealer is cool about replacing them. im sure they going to complain about the wheel swap and say its my fault. but hopefully they are cool about it. i have purchased over 4 cars from them in last 2 years

My tpms light is on, I got new sensors for my new wheels so I don't have to manually remove the sensors for winter wheels (I hate traction control, I like the ability to turn it off).

But, I was unable to get the system to read the new sensors. They were all recognized by the system, the "TPMS" light is off, Just won't read the pressures. Oh well.

or you could look at it that only took 700 miles for you to damage one of them...

Is that because the car still senses the sensors?

*subscribed for some good info here and further updates.

I'm going to try and run TPMS on my Works too (whenever I get them.. lol), I'll post up here with any update. note: I'm not getting the same Works though.

I'll also be getting the ATEQ quickset soon to be able to use that to swap out my other set with their own TPMS.
