Alloys that work with stock 16" (sport) tires?
New Fit Sport owner here, looking to replace my stock 16" sport rims with new wheels while keeping the stock tires if possible. I did some searching, but didn't really find answers in pre-existing threads....
I'm looking at Rota Grids, 16x7 40+ (as seen here: 16 ROTA GRID WHITE RIMS WHEELS 16x7 +40 4x100 FIT CIVIC | eBay)
or Drag DR-31 16x7 40+ (as seen here: Wheel Details - Discount Tire)
My questions are:
1. Will I be able to use these wheels with the stock tires (since they only have 1000 miles on them) or if not, does anyone know a source for 16x6 or 6.5 aftermarket rims that look good and would work with them?
2. With 16x7 rims (and wider tires when the OEs need to be replaced), as I going to take a gas mileage hit, and if so, approximately how much?
I'm not planning on doing any mods to the stock suspension setup for now, so it doesn't seem like rubbing or any other clearance issues should be a problem.
Thanks in advance for any insight.

It would help...
If you told us what year and which stock tire you received...
The Dunlop for GE recommends only 6.5" wide, but you could stretch them to a 7 inch wide....
Dunlop SP Sport 7000 A/S#
The Bridgestone has the same spec...
Bridgestone Turanza EL470
But you are better off getting better tires in the 205/60-16 size. I like my Yokohama Avid Envigors ($350 for 4).

Fixed that for ya. Easy typo though.
I personally wouldn't trust stretching a tire beyond its recommended wheel width for sake of the bead possibly popping off (but the 185 tire can still be mounted on a 7 in wide wheel).
As for aftermarket wheels, I don't know of any one with a wheel between the widths of 5.5 to 6.5 inches. HOWEVER, I do know MINI has several OEM 16 inch wheels that range from 5.5 to 6.5 inches in width and do happen to have the same bolt pattern as the Fit.

Discount Tire assured me that the fitment was okay and they would take responsibility if any problem occurred later down the line that was related to them putting the stock tires on those wheels. I got it in writing, so am not worried about it.
BTW, my stock rims are now for sale in the classifieds for $350 + shipping from 85705. PM or e-mail me if interested.
