Wheel advice on low offset...

Looking at a set of rota grid offroad in 16x8 with +10 offset and put on a set of 205/40/16 tires.

Will it fit

trying to find a rim with some concavity is hard in the honda market, LOL

i think it will stick out quite far...probably more than you are thinking, but if u r going for a more extreme stance, then it may b ok

you're gonna need major fender modification for that to work. I think it'll look great, though.

agreed but you would need more strtch on tires maybe like 195/40r16s will work!!q also you will have to do camber for them

Do it, you'll be fine. Just be prepared to hear rubbing (if you are lowered).

it'll be a lot worse than just rubbing. he'll be destroying fenders.

your car looks great. how are you not chewing up your fenders? your coilovers must be set to extra stiff to minimize suspension travel.

i'm on a set of 16x7.5 ET35 wheels with 205/50s and i'm rubbing like crazy. it's just the inside of the fender but i still can't bravely take a hard corner.

Well with that low offset u def gonna rub !! Especially if u don't roll and pull ur fenders !!! I got 25 offset all around and I rub on dips !!!! And I rolled the rear but ingress not enough!!!! But it would look nasty!!!! Fitdeez I think has the same specs or even a little more aggressive but I'm sure he can shed some light on the matter !!!! But those would look sick !!! Just donthe work and ull be ok !!

You have a 7.5" rim and you lost +20mm offset vs. stock, which is nearly an inch.

So that is 20mm PLUS the extra rim width PLUS a the extra meat of a 205/50 tire.

Then if you dropped the car that will only compound the situation further.

i'm aware of what i was getting into, DSM. and i'm already lowered on tanabe DF210 springs.

i just mounted this setup recently. my stock tires were gone and i wanted to mount my old BBSs from my previous BMW. so i got the tires and went from there. i'm going to do the fender roll thing ASAP. nothing is ruined on my car...yet. just a few scrapes of the fender liner in the front and a little bit in the rear.

...and that's why my replies in this thread are what they are. the OP is going for an even more aggressive fitment and nealy says it's nothing to worry about. ...i can't see how that setup would work w/o aggressive fender modifications.

It was definitely nice for you to give the OP the heads up!

How do you like the Tanabes? Got a link to a pic? I am kind of curious to see how they look!

After I get everything else sorted I am planning on a drop. Just need to see what sort of ground clearance I have after adding all the chassis bracing that should be coming in the mail soon..

here's what i just typed about the tanabes in an unrelated thread:

but since you have a GD, you'll have many sport shocks/struts to choose from.

i don't have any pics, yet. if you're looking for pics of the suspension stance, you'll find a bunch around here. as for the BBSs, i don't have pictures of those either since i haven't cleaned them up and i can't find my darn centercaps since i stored them separately.

good luck with your setup!

I want to put 15x10s on it, as soon as I get the fit wider. Also don't worry about me tenting it because that won't happen.

Yea I just read and redacted that, I found a post of his that said he had added 1.5" to a 1" lip on a set of 8" wheels with an even lower effective offset.

But that sounds like yet another set entirely.. so who knows. Maybe nealy will share his current combo for us when he comes back?

I'd be curious to see what the difference in setups means as far as the rub/no rub cut off or if they are just too many things different to make a good comparison.

you will definitely need major fender work...especially for the front..im running 17x7.5 +35 i only rub the clip that connects bumper to fender. also, youll need to stretch your tires. as for the rears...you will need to roll and pull fenders. im on 17x8.5 and i still rub during dips/bumps. nonetheless

DO IT!!!!!!!!!!
