Talking about the DW's, had a pair up front for auto x and couldn't get them balanced properly. Steering wheel shimmy at anything above 60mph. Bought Star Specs and were happy campers.

thanks for your comments, cfo! considering i wont be able to wash the tires frequently in the winter as i would like, i may skip the DWS and just get snow tires afterall... i hate bloomed tires.

they are made in brazil or hungary or somewhere so there may be issues with quality. starspecs are made in japan. i too have had great success running them on a previous hobby car. they are great tires.

the dws are now mounted on my winter set. i got 205/50/16's on 16x7 rota's. hope they work well on snow.

i will report again after first major snow fall. i too have only been running WS60's on the GD/GE's in the winter. this will be the first winter with the DWS.

^^ yep, this is why im going to give them a try.

i hate the squirm (rubbery twist feel) of snow tires so this should be a great compromise...

yah, a lot of folks except me like the 2012 wheels.

i saw a stock '12 the other day with them on and it looked pretty decent.
personally i prefer my 09's sport wheels.

It might be because my Fit is red the wheels look silver from a distance. I always was big on deep dish wheels but maybe something multi-spoke.

somewhere in my blog about a week ago, i posted the Weds mavericks... they are multi-piece wheels unlike the stock 16's. but the thing is, it almost looks like honda 'borrowed' their design and used it on the '12 wheels.

im a fan of the maverick, but not the '12. the 2 tone color scheme is nice. that part i dont hate. even my enkei's that i run right now follow the same theme. looks fantastic on my silver car, not ricy at all, very classy. if mavericks came in our size i would get them.

yah, they only have like 2pcs left. i was looking at those wheels last month too. i went with the t-forks on my car as i liked how vanct was sporting them.

i was hoping they would have the kosei k1's for our cars in 16's but they dont. i was just there yesterday at southbend to get the dws mounted on my rota's. i was thinking about doing th rpf1's but the weight savings of 3lbs was not enough gross weight so just decided to use the boosts i already had.

forgot to post here... i got the dws mounted on my car. so far so good. only driven dry roads but it behaves well to grooves. feels oem, but with better grip. pretty quiet too. hope to find out how it does in the wet later this week. rain and 40F's.

im happy to report, driving through rain a few times, no issue with blooming (browning) of sidewall.

i cleaned it up VERY WELL using both RC car motor spray in areas and also scrubbing it down real well with GoofOff which tirerack recommended before applying tire dressing. very good. i luv how light weight the tire is, how it grips very well in the dry and wet. overall quiet so far and comfy (as expected from continental). so far so good.

I have them on my Rex and have been pretty satisfied with the feel both wet and dry driving. They're my 2nd set of Contis. Wear is also pretty even (I rotate @ 5k). Snow and ice I haven't had the opportunity to. Ken, I'd be interested on how they grip in snow and ice.
