New Wheels Advice Needed
Hi everyone I'm a noob to fit freak and when it comes to wheels. I just purchased A set of 13.7lb Mini(cooper) spooler 15x5.5 4x100 with a 56.1mm hub wheels with a 45 offset for my 2010 base. Initially I plan to transfer the stock tires and TPMS sensors to my new wheels, and then when I need to replace the tires I plan to go with 185/60/15's. My question is will this setup work with no rubbing, or am I going to need to do something to alter the offset closer to make it closer to the stock 53mm? This is on stock suspension, with no intent of a drop. I am also concerned about the TPMS, these wheels are from a 2009 Mini Cooper and come with sensors (Mini Cooper) already in there, so it looks like the Honda sensors should fit in these. I hope because I do not want have to drive with the TPMS light on. Any info would be appreciated. Thankyou.

The general rule of thumb is that 45mm offset will not rub, even with a 15x7 wheel and 205/55/15 tires on a stock height Fit. Likewise, you should be able to have your TPMS sensors moved with no problem, although I believe they will charge for a rebuild kit when it is done.

Thanks !bungle for the info, my dealer told me that when I switch the sensors to different rims, it should just reset(TPMS), if it is not damaged in the transfer. Thats why I plan on having them mount and balance my new wheels (therefore it's on them if they break any). Hopefully they wont have to resinc them. Also do the stock base lugnuts work on most wheels or am I not going to know this until I have the dealer try to install them? Or should I just go to autozone and pick a couple of different configurations for our thread 12x1.5. I would prefer to use the stock lugs if I could, looks is not important to me but I do want to buy a set of wheel locks. The MINI uses Lug bolts I believe, instead of nuts. Sry for all the noob questions. Thanks again.

Honda (and VW/Audi) alloys use a specific type of lugnut - they have a spherical (rounded) seat. Most aftermarket wheels use conical (beveled) seats. Do not use the rounded seat lugs in wheels not designed for them. When you remove one of the factory lugnuts look at the shape and determine whether it will work. BTW-I don't have any info to add about resetting the sensors, but they may require the rubber gaskets to be changed, my guess is just that they may get damaged during removal.
