mine have been done for about 2 yrs now. i have a little chipping, but not much. i could probably touch it up, but it's just a couple nicks. not bad for 2 yrs. i'll prob just buy new rims when i need new tires next time.

Yeah but jnessel , yours like a gunmetal, right.... So little nicks
& scratches wouldnt be that noticeable given what you had after u steelwooled. (read ur thread)
What about if i wanna go black..... U think it wont be very durable?

No, it's not bad, but I'm a little picky. Black would be fine, just do an extra coat or two of the clear that's made for wheels (it holds up a little better than regular automotive clear from my experience). Post some pics when you finish!

Industrial Protective Coatings & Adhesives, Plastic Coatings, Protective Foam Coatings

Its a rubberized coating, typically used for tool handles. Its really tough, but if applied correctly, peels off without leaving any residue.

Sorry, just saw this reply. Most people use about 4 cans worth. $5 bucks a can....so about $20 total. Pretty nifty stuff.

@slp, nice job on the ring. Looks colormatched? My ring is just vinyl.

Dupli-Color Wheel Coating (bronze + clear coat). I did it for my Evo X's wheels as well. Wheels still looked great when I sold it a year or so later.

Awesome. Any chance of some better pics? Really wanna do my stockers in bronze on my CBP. Considered powder coating, but this would be a much cheaper method!

Where did you get those center caps man? Those would look so nice on the 16 alloys with my CBP Fit!

I found them on Ebay. Not sure what year Civic they are from. I had them powered coated when I had the wheels done. Unfortunately too much rust one one and now it is full of holes. They are a force fit over the center of the steelie. The soft ring around edge was worn off so I just gave them a couple wraps of electrical tape around the edges.

Apparently some 2" electrical box caps will work as well. I am going to check those out.

Here is a pic of one and the wheel both powder coated.
