Biggest Wheel Size?

What is the largest size wheel that can go onto a stock fit without rubbing?

I have seen 19's in the picture thread, and the car doesnt look lowered.

I don't want to lower my car, but I want it to have a cool stance- Which, I feel I can accomplish by filling up the wheel wells with.... wheel!

Are there any light 19's out there?

I generally do wear a size or two larger, and its very comfortable. The large shoes keep my pants from dragging along the ground, and my shorts compliment my shoes most the time.

Would it make people happier if I asked "Whats the biggest size youve heard about on a fit?"

Im not trying to get flamed, Im just trying to figure out whats involved with getting large rims.

I think 18" wheels will fit without much work. But please think about it again, the tire will be very thin (maybe something about 205/35/18) and you will definitely sacrifice comfort. The ride will be a lot stiffer and due to such huge diameter, fuel consumption will increase a lot. Performance such as acceleration will be worse as well. And of course the Fit will look like a huge 4x4 but that's a matter of taste. Personally, I don't like it.

What about lowering the car about 1" and 16" or 17" wheels? There are certain springs that don't lower a lot. The car will have a better handling and you won't scrape any parts. Just an idea.

Base on your statement, stock suspension" without any modification. There are 3 tire sizes to choose from.

205/45 R17 => sidewall 92.25 mm (tire size 205/45/17)
205/45 R16 => sidewall 92.25 mm (tire size 205/45/16 or 205/50/16)
195/50 R15 => sidewall 97.5x2 mm (tire size 195/50/15 or 195/55/15)

These are wheel options to choose from.
205/45 R17 => 2 x 3.14 x ((17x25.4)+(92.25x2)) => 3,870.37 mm / rotation
205/40 R17 => 2 x 3.14 x ((17x25.4)+(82x2)) => 3,741.62 mm / rotation
205/45 R16 => 2 x 3.14 x ((16x25.4)+(92.25x2)) => 3,710.85 mm / rotation
195/50 R15 => 2 x 3.14 x ((15x25.4)+(97.5x2)) => 3,617.3 mm / rotation

Compare with stock wheels.
185/55 R16 => 2 x 3.14 x ((16x25.4)+(101.75x2)) => 3,830.17 mm / rotation
175/65 R15 => 2 x 3.14 x ((15x25.4)+(113.75x2)) => 3,821.38 mm / rotation

So 17" wheels with 205/45 tires will be the closest wheel/tire size without odometer deviation.

The stock wheel offset is +55.

Anything bigger than 17" will look ugly. I dont think any wheels will look good until your lowered. Wheel gap sucks.

yeah 17's are awful without lowering.

it looked awful when i had it lowered and had 2 finger gap all around.

but thats just my opinion. biggest i think is 16's.without lowering.

but thats for the gd3 ....17's for the ge

btw...rubberbands on the bottom of your pants helps it keeping it from dragging if you cannot afford tailoring ;P
