most people that run lowering springs with stock shock will rub, because its too soft, and therefore will have lots of compression during bumps or cornering,
i had lots of rubbing with 18" on df210 springs with stock shocks, right after i got coil-overs, it was stiffer and i was lower than the df210 and no rubbing as a result

Those using spring rubbers or suspension stops to limit suspension travel got the same result at the cost of a very hard ride.
I still say substituting air lift shocks is a better solution. At least its adjustable.

Ok, so i know the following specs may seem absurd, according to what ive read, but will it work on a 1.5"-2.0" drop?
Size : 17x7.5
Offset : 38MM
Lip Size : 1.5"
Tire: 205/40/17
i saw that people were trying not to go lower than +45, whats the reasoning behind that?

Any lower than 45mm and (depending on tire size) you will need to roll your fenders. It's not a big deal to some but something that many peeps don't want to mess with. Also the 7.5 is kinda wide.
I'm not the smartest cookie about this stuff ...so hopefully someone else can chime in with more insight.

misfit, you will be fine, especially the rears, cause i'm lowered about ~2" and have 18x7.5 +32 with 215 rear's and its fine, your front should be fine too i am on +42 fronts, and 215 tires, since you will be running 205 will be narrower, should only need a roll if anything

i should also add you might not need to roll the fronts, but you may need to cut/mod the fender liner, thats what will rub first
mine doesnt rub, but only on big bumps it scrubs the plastic liner, never hit the metal yet

Really? whichever will prevent my tires from getting too damaged will do.
im not sure if i want to cut into the fender liner as of yet, but if i have to, i dont mind
ive actually found a guy who would roll the fenders for $50 a fender
not sure if thats a good price, im guessing its decent for all the labor it encompasses.
i dont mind the tires rubbing the fender liner a bit on bumps and so, as long as its not rubbing the metal

Waiting on my new wheels, then I will post a thread for mine, but right now I'm on E-bay dropzone GD3 springs, and I'm running 17x7.5 et32 Falken Hanabis. Tires are 205/40-17 falken Ziex ZE512 front and 195/40-17 Yokahama S-drives back. I had these on my last car and thought the yoks would stretch but they do not on a 7.5 width. The falkens on the other hand stretch nicely.
I have no rub, even around corners and on bumps, and I frequently carry 3 people in the car.

Just curious...
Has anyone tried to put 235-50-15 on a set of 15x7 with +25 offset before? because I want to do that, but I'm afraid I can't turn my wheels... lol.. let me know if this set up would work. Thanks.

The overall diameter would work, but who makes a tire in that size? And why would you want that? It will definatley not fit CORRECTLY on a 7" wide wheel either. Your 25+ offset *should* work, but you would be much better off running 205/50-15 tires, there are plenty of low cost good handling tires if the handling edge is wht you hope to improve with your above mentioned tire size.

question: Would these wheels fit with rolled & pulled fenders?
i want an aggressive stance, but im just curious as to whether the 9.5 in the front would work or if it would be rubbing suspension or any components?

Just installed 17x7 +43 Enkei RPF1 wheels, With 205/40/17 falken ziex 912 tires. No rubbing so far in about 50miles, but have tried lock to lock with nothing to report.
Handling is way better! The tires don't feel to wash away on you nearly as much. Definitely more confidence in the car than before. Now it just needs to be lowered a inch or two.
