Folks who made them for me do, call up Treds in Hayward and talk to Jessie 510-731-6912

-1.0 per shim... Can double stack them if you want to go over -4.0 ... More than that would require longer hardware but....

Ooh really now? Is this just with one camber bolt and a factory (or crash bolt) in the hole or two camber bolts?

Weekday summer evenings were my favorite, not a car to be seen, such good memories, would spend all night up there. That loop was our test bed when "take it to the track" was the last thing on our minds. YOUNG AND RECKLESS

Hootie That's for a GE, and only one aftermarket camber bolt I was able to get -1.5 with a single aftermarket camber bolt in the bottom on my GD, and am now close to -3.0 with 2.

Well that's a bit of a bummer. I was hoping I would be able to get -1.8 or so for daily use with one bolt... oh well.

Quick question.

Did you have to reuse the OEM spacers on the rear shock to your new Koni shocks?

Which spacers are you talking about? I don't remember anything that I would call a spacer.

Sorry, had to edit his photo.

Anyways, I'm talking about these. Are these "spacers" removable from the old shock and do you use them on the new shocks?

So... Fair warning lots of pics and LONG update/review to follow

I got my shocks on Wed but had to wait till Fri for the new top rubber mounts from my local Honda dealer:
Shock PRON!

I knew they would be longer than the S2 Pro C shocks... But I didn't expect this!

I did A LOT of detailed measuring and side by side comparison testing. I knew the S2 shocks are adjustable in body length and that they are marketed as "short shocks" for the GD Fit. Turns out though, that they were HORRIBLY miss adjusted and at full suspension droop they had almost an inch of vertical free play

This explains A why the S2 were blown ( Left Rear actually remained compressed for almost 2 minutes when tested ) and B why I have had such a hard time dialing in the car. My back has been killing me for a few months

The Koni's actually compressed JUST as far as the S2's with no bump stop, and since they extend further this is a + for me as it means I can make quick on the fly rear spring swaps with just a jack, more on that later

So a few quick adjustments had to be made. I used the OE Honda bump stop which is around 3 1/4"

and cut it down to 2"

Then installed it with a zip tie below and no dust boot to test if I was impacting them:

This is on the car at a bit more than full droop (only one shock on L rear and not 100% torqued top or bottom) ready to test:

I did also raise my ride height back up from just tucking tire on 15" rims with 205/50R15's to a good 2.5 finger gap. After some adjustment (ended at 1.5 turns from full stiff) I was able to take the horribly pot hole strewn section or road near my house at 25-40mph and not ride the stops :

THE RIDE IS 1000000% IMPROVED. Even my GF was like, "what did you do, its more comfy than mine!"

I loaded up 300+ pounds of worth of canopies, chairs, BBQ, tools and luggage and got ready for the weekend:

The weekend started with a 120+ mile cruise with over 20 Fits in my FellaFit club on Sat down to Santa Cruize for our Summer meet and a Beach BBQ:

http://goo.gl/maps/aZjGt

The jaunt down the 9 to the 35 was a bit of an accident But being 1 lane, super twisty and at an avg moving speed of 20-25mph it was for sure interesting, and so was getting passed by a group of 7 GTR's at speed on a blind corner filled one lane road

The Koni's took it all FLAWLESSLY. No rubbing, no weird rocking horse motion in the turns or harshness on bumps at speed. When caravaning before I used to watch the Fit in front of me to see when to expect a harsh bump... No more, I just floated over all of it

Sunday I headed down to Marina Municipal Airport for my SFR SCCA Round 6 event. I did OK in the AM, not turning any really exceptional times, but I blame that 100% on driver error as I miss read the best lines on my early Am no Coffee and hurried course walk.

In the PM my co driver showed up with his MUCH larger amount of experience, functioning pyrometer and both 600# Eibach and 13K Swift springs to try in the rear on the new Konis. 2 runs let us dial in PSI, 31 front and 25 rear, and then we went to the 600#. IMMEDIATELY noticed improvement on turn in and posted my TopTimeofDay on run 3. For the 5th and final we swapped to the 13K Swift's and the car danced the slaloms like it was nothing. Became MUCH easier to drive fast

Times, AM on top and PM on bottom. Last on bottom is dirty wit +2 sec from hitting 1 cone

The "show case" turn was a hard right hand sweeper after a near 55-60mph straight:

I'm still pulling together the video, but I am SUPER happy and VERY impressed with these... Now my priority is to pinch pennies and get the full coil over with Koni insert onto the front!!!

Great write up!!! I'm saving my coins for a set of yellows for my GE

This is good info because I can get a idea of a good starting point for rebound adjustment with the Koni yellows.

I plan to run just the rears with my Swifts.

We have a GE locally who is running exactly that setup and he loves it! $ WELL spent in our minds. Remember though to never go "full" firm, always dial it back like 1/4th-1/8th turn from full lock.
