Bilsteins !
well i finally got a set of coilovers for the fit. i had swift springs with stock dampers. had a bit a problem with the last mechanics work on one damper. he forced 1 of the nuts onto the stock damper threading. it probably stripped, and he just kept going all the way in. annnnnd he put locktite on there too. so yea that delayed us about 4 hrs. the other 3 went on fairly quickly. about 1.5-2 hrs.
driving impressions ... feels awesome ! so much better now. much less body roll. turns in quicker and tighter. not too bumpy for daily imo. its a real nice setup for street and occasional autox. overall much more planted feel, no more long bouncy stock damper feel. id say the spring rate is nice rate for street use. the swifts were probably a lil less stiff. but yea..i'm very satisfied with this setup. will probably do an update later on. oh and i'll take some pictures after i get her washed. i feel it's a nice drop , lil lower then my swifts.

yea i'm supped yo! never had a set with all the cars i've had ! most i had were springs and shock combos. these feel great for street use. so much more confidence at 70+ mph. unlike before the car would get a lil nervous with the wind and the stock damper just had too much travel ... now it's just planted and out!
oh and the wheel gap is smaller now ... about 1.5 finger ? before was about 2-2.5 finger ? i'll def try to get her washed and snap a few shots this weekend.

I have questions:
In order for you to get to 1.5finger gap, how much lowering did you go?
Is it the maximum lowering or still can do more?
What size of wheel and tire are you currently used?
and if possible, could you tell me how you adjust the lowering when you are installing the coilover (like how much turn or the distance of the coil spring adjuster you have to turn or move)?
Also this Bilstein have progressive spring,
do you fell the "progressiveness" or it still feel quite linear?
I mean it suppose to be soft at it's initial movement but got substantially
harder the more you lean the car, so what do you think?
And when you brake hard, does the car still nose dive like the stock?
or the car nose dive less but there is still noticeable nosedive?
or the car almost not nose dive at all?
I really need to know this since the biggest problem I had now is my car
nose dive every time I press the brake pedal...
by the way, with my still full stock suspension,
I also fell the instability you are talking about above 70mph...
I even feel my rear end moving a little (very little shaking ala fish tail) at high speed on uneven road surfaces (ie the left wheel travel on concrete, the right wheel travel on asphalt that could happen on some freeway)...
Now,
When you change to swift but with stock shocks ,
Do you still feel the above too?
because if you do, that mean not only our stock spring is too soft,
our stock shock do not dampened enough (especially for harder spring like swift)...
Thanks

I lowered the maximum of 50mm
stock wheel 16" , 205 50 tires
Came with the adjusting hooks. my mechanic basically just adjusted to the lowest setting.
It definitely feels progressive. not overly stiff on straights. turns in tight and flat for the most part.
a lot less nose diving and squatting delays
mechanic said the rear suspension is very old technology ... non independent suspension ... shock and spring setup.
swifts helped a bit , bilsteins helped a lot more

I'm more interested in the ride quality. I and many of my passengers have found the stock to be rather bumpy and responds to almost every little hole and bump on the floor. How have these coilovers changed your ride impression?

Nice write up on the new coils.I considered these early on with my 2012 sport A/T.It's funny how you experienced bouncy and unstable ride with the stock dampers and Swifts.
I have none of this with my Swifts and rsb with stock dampers.I dont know if the extra weight of the A/T and the rsb have anything to do with it or not.
I can absolutely fly through sweepers and just about every other type of turns with very predictable handling.I see you have Cali plates are you here or Jersey?
