My first major purchase improved my car's breaking tremendously and I didn't touch the brakes....... Enkei RPF1s and 195-55-15 Conti Pro Contact tires.... I don't see how bigger brakes are going to work any better, except for reduced fade, on a vehicle with anti-lock braking system... I must admit to appreciating the amount of work that people have put into putting larger brakes on their cars.. If I ever find that it's something I need to do to my car there is a lot of excellent info on FitFreak that will enlighten me as to the best way to do it right... I've done a lot of other stuff to my car I had no idea that I would, so I'm serious about it.

I fully understand, I would of upgraded my wheels 1st but I'm saving for them. The brakes I'm putting on I was going to put them on my civic, but i dont have the time to work on it and I may not have the room for it soon. So I got bored at work an wanted to try them out.

Ok here's a little up-date mini cooper rotors fit (ha) when I get home ill post pics. Still waiting on brackets

well a good set of tires will really help with stopping as well, not just a big brake kit

Thumbs up

Those calipers are so much larger than stock, very cool indeed, nothing wrong with stopping the earth's rotation when need be, right I know your getting larger rotors because in that first pic, holy small rotors Batman! What pads are you going with? I had the Hawk street pads on my Mini and they not only did a great job but kept the wheels VERY clean, I recommend them for sure but not sure about heavy duty auto-X though, they've got pads for that action as well. BTW, PLEASE paint those new calipers too, especially since you can brush on the paint and do a great job w/o anything in the way

Jim, glad you looking to come back up and I must say your a great guy and hope all is going well with you!

Make sure these pics make it over to Xceedspeed too, inquiring minds would like to see!

Heheh... The Fit's my son's DD to school which I get to drive occasionally. It's stock straight up... and my son's not as aggressive as I am... yet... When he can buy his own parts then I'm ok with it...

I think the stock brakes are just fine for a stock Fit and the primary driver...

Well I maybe stuck with 17x7 with plus 42, both sport wheels and the wife's candys dont fit. The spokes hit the caliper on both wheels I may fine some other wheels. Oh and the type r brackets work just fine.
