Do you need a spring compressor or other special tools to install it? Also how to you adjust the front damping, do you have to undo the entire wiper cowling again?

tein or hks do not include upper mounts from what i have been told and researched....out of all the coilovers readily available in the US, tein and hks have the most street friendly spring rates that i have found.....but tein are about 200-300 cheaper (for the tein s.s.) and they are supposed to be able to drop the fit a little lower.......

HKS does have top hats, only tein dont have them, so no spring compressor needed
but the hks still require that oem top rubber piece which i think every coilover has to re-use that

The Tein Super Compacts (equivalent to the SS, so i'm told) DO have the top hats (if that is what they are called) but you need the smaller rubber mounting piece that goes over the rod on top of the "hat," plus the lower rubber and upper rubber to mount to the shock tower.
