SLP950's Fit pics/progress thread

Hey, why not. They fit, and while I don't care for those particular ones, some S-lites would look amazing on a GE. Just too heavy. Swapping across completely different brands is not uncommon in tuning euro cars. Not as respectable to go German->Japanese, but since euro style has hit the JDM crowd so hard with these people into BBS RSs, poke and whatnot - it's okay in my book. Will always be "wannabe," but some of us wanna reliable german car, and that doesn't exist yet.

Couldnt turn them down for the price + fitment, plus with how I painted them they halfway matched the steering wheel!
Don't worry, I swapped them out pretty quick because I wasn't nuts about them either.
It only snows like that every couple of years or so here so I'm not too worried about it!

Now things start getting better a little: Added dropzone springs for the GD3, and 17x7.5 et32 Falken Hanabis with 205/40-17 Falken Ziex ZE512 Front and 195/40-17 Yokohama S-drives Rear. Check my rainbow lip courtesy of some ebay purchased vinyl:
And backtracking a bit, 14's do fit on a, um, Fit:
14x6 et20 Momo with 185/60-14 kumho 732.

how come you went with 2 diff tire sizes? are 195's stretched on those 7.5s??

As for the two tire sizes, it's a bit of a long story. Basically I was getting some rub when I had them a Mazda 323 that was stupid low. The Falkens were on and I had some mismatched no-name tires on the back. So I thought if 205's clear with a bit of stretch, the 195's should be better!
Nope. Trust me, the yoko s-drives have NO STRETCH compared to Falken ZE 512's.
512's= little bit of stretch
S-drives= no stretch
So here's what came next:
Stay tuned for more...

thats a nice sexy lip on those rear ones...are these custom made? how much did they run?
Im curious, was it your choice to run slightly stretched tires or did u not have a choice because of rubbing?
I recently put spacers on my rears and im finding that with my offset and a full car of people, this was a bad idea lmao. i rub bad on small turns and tiny bumps with 4 people in the car. i might have to just remove the spacers and deal that my rears arent at the fenders....

I ran the tires stretched because I like the stretched look, Falken approves the 205/40-17 on a 17x8 so it's not like they are stretched a dangerous amount or anything, and I wanted to be sure they wouldn't rub since going from a 6" wide et55 wheel to an 8" ET 38 is such a huge jump!
These are actually for sale now, I'm looking to go wider on my next set!

This one shows how high the rear still was:
