Just a little update...

Got a set of plasma yellow fog bulbs today in the mail off Ebay. Just a note to those of you with the Mugen frontend - you cannot remove the foglight trim cover from the outside. The only way to access the foglamps is to remove, or peel back the front inner fender liner. Kind of a pain, but I'm used to German cars - so no biggie.

I also noticed some scrapes on the RF lower spoiler on the front corner that made me angry a bit, most likely due to pulling into steep driveways. In the spring Im likely going to have to sand down, prime, and repaint the lower leading edge of both from winglets in order to make it look right again. Not what I wanted to see on a brand new car, but such is life.

Will probably do my first oil change next week when I roll over 3k.

I like the mugen look but I cannot get past the fake chrome dual exhaust housing. At first when I was at the dealership I was like hey dual exhaust, then I got a little closer and was like damn....you got me. I bet the salesman in his booth behind me got a good snicker out of it. Nice car though, black fits and white fits look the best with mugen stuff imo.

Yeah, what was funny with mine is that the dealer left the OE exhaust tip finisher on it, inside the Mugen trim. It looked ridiculous. Removed the exhaust tip and now you can't even see the exhaust. It bothered me at first, but its been growing on me.

Just a little update...ordered my wheels/tires today from Tirerack. The Retracks I ordered from a seller on Ebay ended up not having the size I wanted in stock, and didn't expect a full set in for another month. Besides, found a much better deal on Tire Rack. Got a set of TR Motorsports 15" Grey Matte finish 15x7s with 205/50/15 Dunlop Direzzas for $700 shipped. Never had and issue with Tirerack, so they get my business everytime. The wheels are a 42 offset, so no issues with rubbing, even with a drop I plan on doing. Now I have to wait the 3 months to put them on. Grrr.

I really like the look of the wheels, and I've yet to see any of them anywhere.

Gonna spring and get a set of either black Muteki, or Blue Rays lugs for it.

In preparation for the drop and the new wheels and tires, I ordered a set of H&R 4mm spacers for when the wheels go on. Shouldn't have to worry about thread length since its only 4mm.

Still debating whether to go with the pricey Mugen visors, or the just as nice OE visors.

I know, but $200 versus $80 for the OE Honda ones seems really steep.

Who knows, I'll probably end up getting the Mugen ones. I just think where that extra $120 could go into the car.

I completely agree. It's not as if most people are going to look at your ride and say, " Oh man, that Fit sucks... it doesn't have the Mugen visors to go with the other Mugen stuff. I don't think the Mugen visors look that much better (if at all) than the Honda ones. I mean, they're visors.

Seriously, put your $200.00 ($120.00) on something else you may have in mind for your ride. I think $200.00 for plastic visors is outrageous anyways! Come on, as far as visors go, I think the Honda visors are outrageously priced too... but I would (and will) spring for those.

Question about your wheels. I'm a serious rookie here, so excuse my ignorance. Since the wheels you're showing are 5 lug, would you be using an adaptor, changing the hub, or can the wheels' centers be removed and replaced? (doesn't look like it) What's the procedure in this kind of situation?

The main reason I ask is because I've seen a lot of 5 lugs wheels I really liked. Like I said, I'm still a total rookie when it comes to these kinds of things.

Thanks

The wheels pictured is just what Tire Rack has published on their site. The wheels purchased will look slightly different, the main thing will be just 4 lug holes and probably just another 4 holes vs. the 10 on the picture and the other big thing, the concave face will not be present or at least not as much as shown as stated above your post by beangrower.

Wheels look nice, remind me sort of the older Work Emotion or the stockers that came on my 5R Teggy. Should look nice on the vehicle without a doubt.

Speaking of the visors, WOW. I ordered the Honda Access visors which are priced at ¥15000 ($168), which look exactly like the Honda visors there and the Mugen visors only cost ¥14000 ($157). I would of rather went with the Mugen visors honestly, but I didn't even bother to look into it. Oh well, but surprised the Mugen visors cost as much as they do there compared to the Honda visors which are half the price they are here. Very interesting and makes me wonder how prices are actually determined. Seems like somebody just throws a number out there and that's it. haha

FitProject...very nice ride. This happens to be my first post since joining. I myself just purchased a 2010 Fit sport w/ mugen package near christmas a few weeks ago. Sadly, my kit will not be availble until an ETA of March 2010. Dealership stated there is a "NATIONWIDE BACK ORDER." My pic's will be up once its installed.

Current projects:

~Mugen Exaust
~Cargo tray (completed)
~ext. LED lights (completed)
~Accord horn upgrade (completed)
~PRM Intake (completed)
~DTRL (Disabled)
~35-40% tint

March 2010

~Mugen kit will arrive

Ahh! Thanks again for the education!

Wouldn't know about the reminder aspect (haven't been in this long enough), but I agree about how they will look.

Oh man, not trying to make you feel bad, seriously... but I would be wondering if I could return them at that price. Since you paid for the Access version you may as well have sprung for the Mugens and at least gotten the variation, as you've already stated. Or, return them and pay the regular Honda visor price since they look the same as the Access version. I too think they just pull figures out of thin air sometimes.

"Hey, let's just throw it out there and see what sticks!"

So yes, the wheels I bought are the 4x100 versions and are not the offset pictured. Got them in at work last week and I am so eager to put them on.

Recently swapped the 194 wedge marker light bulbs out for some Polarg hyper-white ones and they look great and match my PIAA headlights PERFECTLY. I ordered a few more to replace my trunk lights, map lights and dome light. I also swapped in an Accord horn I found at a Pick-a-part yard near me yesterday. $3 horn FTW!

Be advised, I'm gonna see what the dealer can do for me, but I discovered yesterday that my left hand foglight housing is already cracked from top to bottom. Seems shitty that they may not cover it under warranty, but with 4k miles on it I really hope they do.

I'm new to the Fit world, but Fits seem to have problems with cracked fog housings and banged-up condensers! Sorry to hear about your problem... that stinks. Hope Honda is "nice" to you.

BTW, nice Fit... looks good.

damn, very nice! I like the mugen usdm kit for the fits. I just wished the new fits all had the controls for stereo on the steering wheel.

There's a thread in the Fit I.C.E. forum that tells you how to add the steering wheel audio controls to Fits that do not have them. Doesn't sound as if it would be that difficult or expensive to do.

Just as an update. Caved and ordered a set of OE visors, as I got a crazy price on them. I also ordered a set of body side moldings from the same vendor on Ebay. With all the parts I'm throwing this thing I couldn't justify $200+ on window visors. Additionally I ordered the Progress RSB off of Progress' website. Their sport springs should be comming soon as well.

Someone on my local forum offered me cash+trade of his wheels without tires for my TR's and I couldn't refuse. Ended up grabbing a set of gunmetal Buddy Club P1's in 15x6.5. Going to take a few pictures of them in my garage today, but here is a shot of them on my friends 96 DX hatch...

Hopefully very soon the springs/wheels/and RSB will go on all at the same time. Car is also scheduled to go in for Autobahn front end sheild + wax/polish/claybar/etc at my buddy's detail shop.

Cannot wait for nice weather.
