Keeping the cruise control with an after market steering wheel

Hey guys I have searched everywhere and can't find any tips on keeping cruise control when swapping out the factory wheel for an aftermarket one. Does anyone have any ideas where to look or even just simple mods for an after market CC set up. Any help is great.

I'd rather have cruise than an airbag. And judging from the Who is still driving their Fit in spite of recall? thread, I'm not alone- although the trend seems to be out of fear rather than disgust.

Find a wiring diagram and study the cruise switch and clockspring to figure out which wires on the instrument panel wiring correspond to which wires on the cruise switch. Then hack into them and mount a cruise switch on the dash. Googling "universal cruise control switch" comes up with some good ideas like this one from a company called Rostra:

Good luck, and enjoy your new wheel.

all u need is something to turn it on and something to engage it.. on my DB8 I used the rear windshield wiper lever from a dc2. I had another buddy use a sunroof switch from an EG..
