Oil change maintence minder question
#21
- That's not a Fit manual. It looks like a North American Honda maintenance schedule from 20 years ago. In any event, it calls for changes every 7,500 miles or 12 months whichever comes first.
- What if the MM calls for a change in 3 months? Are you recommending changing it yearly?
There is nothing that needs to be done yearly, unless the MM has not called for an oil change, then this should be at the anniversary.

Sorry, I thought we were both talking about this guy.
Question regarding the oil life gauge. Does it reset itself automatically? I took my 2013 Fit to the dealer for an oil change and the oil life was 90%, they claimed to have done the change but it still reads the same.
I suspect that they are trying to con me or did they just forgot to re-set it. Thanks in advance.

Change it every 12 months or when the little wrench light comes on. It is imperative that you use 0w-20w oil as that is what Honda calls for don't let some knuckle head put 5w-30 conventional oil in there - its bad for it- and use a good filter not a 3 dollar cheapie I use the from ultraguard it says its good for 15k miles and my mm doesn't usually come on til after 11k so you want a good filter, I recommend doing it yourself, other people don't care about your car as much as you, don't assume they know best, educate yourself and stay away from the quick service places they're just going to sell you junk you don't need. 0w-20 from Walmart (its the Mobil full syn fuel economy) is like 25 bucks the filter is like 10 and you can do it yourself in 30-60 minutes and know its right, I make copies of my receipts and staple it in my book- done
