09 fit won't start auto

Hi

I have an 09 fit and my car won't start. It started just a whole ago. On the dash lights I see the P and D lite. My car is on park and hand brake on. I crank but there's no motor sound. Dash Lights seem to be all on just fine.

Is my battery dead?

They don't really dim. I noticed now that my stereo LCD panel goes dark after a few seconds of being on. Very strange.

The car needs to be fully in Park 'P' for you to start it. The dash light should only indicate P, not both P and D. shift out of P and put it back and try again. If not try cranking in neutral. if that works you might need your transmission linkage adjusted, or possibly neutral safety switch if it has one.

Your battery is dead, jump start it. The car will act funny when it doesnt have enough amperage to engage the starter but enough for dash lights and some interior functions to work. Thats why people assume its an electrical problem, when usually all it is......is a battery. Try that and good luck!

So i changed the battery and it still takes me a while to start the car. I would say a good 3 seconds of crank before it starts. I somehow think it's related to my swift drop and the awy the car is slightly slanted to the front. When I crank and the car eventually starts, it has a heavy fuel smell on it.

Any ideas?
