Wiper-area fascia reinstall instructions?
I just had to have a new windshield installed on my 2010 Fit Sport -- and I think all those plastic parts at the bottom of the windshield were not reinstalled correctly.
Is there a service manual or bulletin that describes how this should be done? I don't want to go back making accusations without proof.
TIA!

It all seems kind of loose -- and there are gaps between the plastic and the body panels that weren't there before. Also, not everything seems level.
They guys at the glass shop had never seen a Fit before -- there are very few in this area (Nissan Versa are EVERYWHERE). I'm thinking they just made their best guess and tightened the screws.
I'm going to take it to the Honda dealer tomorrow and ask them to check it over -- the car isn't 4 months old...

Well, there is a gap that is supposed to be there. It is where two plastic pieces connect, it looks like it's not supposed to be like that, but that's how it came from Honda. I'm wondering if that's what you're seeing.

No, that "gap" is now smaller -- and the plastic panel adjacent to the metal windshield pillar in front of the driver no longer touches the pillar. Also, where the "gap" overlap happens, the larger plastic panel no longer lays flat. And the entire plastic assembly can be moved with a light tug -- it slides down toward the engine on the driver's side. I'm guessing they missed some hooks and latches when they reassembled it.

That's pretty shoddy work. I've dissembled and reassembled the piece before, and it's really not difficult work. I wouldn't be surprised if they broke some clips and that's why it's not staying together.

So here's my plan: 1) Call my insurance agent and tell her what's going on. 2) Call the glass company and tell the owner that there's a problem. 3) Take the car to the Honda Dealer for triage. I'll report back tomorrow! Thanks for your interest!

I suspect they broke some of the clips when removing the large section. I just took all this stuff off mine last week to do the springs. I broke two. I have enough left that it is all still snug.
