Transmission Cooler Return Line?

Which line coming from the transmission cooler in the radiator is the return line? Is it the short line on the left, or the long line on the right (as you're looking down on the cooler lines)? I ordered a Magnefine inline transmission filter, and want to get it into the return line. Thanks!

Try this. turn on ur car for about 5 min, then turn it off. Go and touch both tranny cooler lines (don't worry it won't be too hot) and the one that is cooler is the return line. IIRC it's the one on the left when ur looking down

I tried that, and I guess my fingers aren't too sensitive. I do recall the left line being a little cooler than the right line. Thanks!

I ended up putting it in the longer feed line since it was much easier to work with, and will dissipate heat better there.

This is over and above the regular filter. What can I say, I like my ATF like my drinking water, filtered!

And thanks for posting that picture! I can see the big long line is the feed line coming from the differential or torque converter, and the smaller line is the return line going to the sump.

Update: So far so good. Looks like the giant, long line is the feed line, and the short line is the return line.
