Engine squeal at ~1500-2000 RPM.
Have a 2010 Sport 5MT with about 170k miles.
Engine has a squeal that only occurs around 1500 RPM. I just had the AC compressor replaced and replaced the belt and belt tensioner thinking that the tensioner's pulley was the problem as it had quite a bit of wobble and after I took it off, the bearing didn't exactly sound or feel the greatest either. Unfortunately, this didn't solve it and the symptoms are the exact same;
- @ 1500-2000 RPM
- happens hot or cold
- isn't affected by A/C or alternator load
So if it isn't A/C, belt, or tensioner, what's next? Water pump?
Unfortunately, it isn't at idle at all so I can't get my head in there and poke around to diagnose.
Attached is a video of the tachometer with the noise.
Hopefully someone recognizes it and can't point me in the right direction.
