Hi,
Relatively new to Fit's...looking to pick up another car and I'm wondering what the significant differences between the regular vs. Sport.

From everything I'm reading, it's just mostly cosmetics, is this a fair assumption?

Cruise control, ipod/usb interface, remote lock/unlock, security system, paddle shifters, in addition to the cosmetic stuff.

Great, this is the info I was looking for as they don't really mention this anywhere.

At first I thought it was just the bodywork which I can live without since I'd likely go a different direction with.

though it doesn't mention the rear stabilizer bar, but you can see that if you look at the specs

 

also the sport has an arm rest, base doesn't

 

And for automatics, paddle shifters on the Sport. (Contemplating automatic, already have a manual car).

 

Sport > Base. For all the extras you get it's totally worth it! I was looking for a base to start with, cruise control did it for me.

 

same here for the cruise, plus the paddle shifters are a really nice feature for mountain driving

 

Also good to know, but I've been driving for 15 years and I think I can count the number of times I've used cruise control on one hand. So that personally isn't a deal breaker.

So far I haven't come across anything compelling that would immediately make me choose a Sport.

 

Although I didn't think I would use it much, I am also enjoying the usb for playing music on my flash drive and ipod.
I find the paddle shifters invaluable for driving here in Colorado--you probably don't need if you do mostly city driving

 

Sport also includes front map lights, while the Base only has the dome light.

 

Cruise is what put it over the top for me.

 

What are you guys paying out the door for your Sport/Non-sport?

 

Not heavily relevant, but I paid 19179 OTD* for my sport navi on the 4th. This was with the 0.9% financing.

*Arkansas out the door prices don't include Tax, Title or License fees.

The Sport rides harder because of the lower profile tires. I felt a pretty noticeable difference. It's something worth considering when making your selection. I ended up with the Sport, anyway, but I think the base was a more comfortable highway cruiser.

 

LOL, I ride on 19's right now so 16's would be a welcome comfort.

 

Go base and get real comfort - well relative comfort - HA rubber up those 15" wheels. Base A/T in NYC. Don't be looking for MPG's either way. Some folks here in Brooklyn seeing 16MPG!!!

I'm 'up-state' but not originally, been going to the city for the past 50+yrs, grew up 30M north. For you it's an econobox, plain and simple - a great one at that. Sport gives you a few kreature comforts not important enough to pay for. Bottom line it. You are getting one hell of a car either way.

How/why two cars in NYC??? Always been curious. I've never known anyone living in the city who owns a car.
