I think the Civic is a bit more pricey as it has a bigger engine and I slightly bigger. The Mazda 3 is ugly, really I don't like it at all...

I got the Fit because it's the best looking car of your 3 choices, the best fuel economy (fit vs civic vs mazda3), more versatile and cheaper to maintain.

I can't say anything about the Prius because Toyota doesn't sell them here.

Hope this helps....cheers!

Truecar showed the sucker price in my area. Not sure you want to base your success on victims of car dealers.

My guess is that the site is owned by car dealers, or at least well liked by them.

The Fit is an amazing little car, but it turns out I would have needed to wait two months to get the color and options I wanted, so I went with the Insight. Thanks for the help, though. You have a very nice community here.

What trim level? In the end, after looking at specs. and several test drives of various small cars, we narrowed our choices to the Fit and the Insight, with back-to-back test drives. A Prius test drive was one of the most unpleasant ever; the Insight felt pretty normal by comparison, and choosing between it and the Fit was difficult.

Awesome..congrats! Those look pretty cool, and they are not very common. The dealer where I bought my fit always has them on special (here's the current one) $18,988 including dest) :

Local dealer quoted $17,400 for a Fit Sport a/t. They're also including carpet floor mats. This is in the "great deal" price on truecar.com for my area and according to pricing on Edmunds. Unfortunately, there are no current Honda cash incentives on the Fit this month. They tell me they don't find out about the following month's incentives until they "hit" on the first day of the month. I know they've got a little money under the invoice, but these deals of $1500 under invoice must include cash incentives, right? What am I missing that people are getting them for so much less?

Extending that USB cable might be a challenge.. you'd probably want to pass an extension cable back behind the dash and have it come out down below wherever you like it. Maybe you could add the armrest accessory and have it come up there.

There is an aux port on the front of the radio purely for input, but you won't be able to charge and use the deck for control that way.
I know, responding to an older post.

If not already known... Germany offers LHD cars with climate control. I've been thinking about it and wondering how to buy the parts needed to do this conversion.

As for the USB... another option is to just pull the port out of the glove box and route it to somewhere more comfortable. 77505-TF0-G00ZA is the Honda SKU to cover where the USB used to be (basically, converting from Sport to Base).

Great link Goobers.

I want that skylight roof on the German JAZZ - that is sweet. And if you look around you'll find their trick trailer hitch. Only in America you can't tow with a FIT.

Too bad angel left - I was looking forward to getting to know her...
