Just wondering what are the percentage of GE Fits out there of manual vs automatic. Doh miss spelled manual on the poll and it won't let me edit it.

or unless you want throttle response and better gas mileage.
(I still don't believe an auto can get the same mileage as a manual.)

This isn't a good picture of all the GEs out there. Most people on the forum are people who are passionate about their cars and subsequently give a crap about driving so there will be a higher percentage of manuals.

Huh???????????????????
Manuals are garbage for those who don't want to be intimate with their machine or those who are uncoordinated.

Seriously though.....(because I dont want to diss folks who auto shift)
For some reason the term personal preference comes to mind. Give it some thought!

i didn't realize it was for ge's well you got at least one gd in your poll. As for me, I miss my manual s10, but when i'm driving in SF, or in traffic, my auto fit is nice to have.

Atlanta traffic + wanting to enjoy my commute = 5 speed automatic (punctuated by occasional paddle shifter overrides)

Now, for truly enjoying the Fit on the Dragon's Tail, that's a different story. 'Bout time we get a sequential-shifting gearbox, or the ability to swap one in. My fingers are crossed for '09, '10, '11...maybeee? C'mon, Honda!

I just got auto cause there were no manuals, but manual is more responsive and I feel more in control with a manual and it gets better mpg on most cars, it seems you never learn how to drive a manual.

i have driven stick since i got my license and honestly don't see what the big deal is.
my first car when i got my license was 91' honda civic hatchback with an act race clutch. everything else after that is simple.
plus i drove in San Francisco. traffic and hills everywhere. it's practically second nature after awhile of driving it.

I chose automatic. It was the base automatic gas mileage that was the big draw.

Most of my cars have been stick. Except the Corvettes, those were automatics too.

I'm tired of shifting.

My personal preference is a manual for the car I drive. Again, for me it's especially important in small cars with small engines. More fun too which is important for me. Maybe a control issue I have to work out... Also drove for years in SF (Fillmore) with a 69 vw, manual of course. Can't imagine doing it any other way. Clutch died at Gough/Washington at the light. Had to back down and find alternate route to get home. That's part of the fun of it though right? At least with an old bug...
