removing the head unit is a PITA, it has 13 clips securing it. But once i found the right angle to pry in the slot it came out easy.
I was about to give up though at one point

You thinking about getting a new head unit? I don't like to do things twice lol so I'm waiting til I can get the GPS unit. Just like no swaybar til I am ready to install the springs. Either way, it looks nice dude :P

nope I love the functionality of the factory head unit, may add a small 4 channel later and nicer speakers. Components up front and coax in rear doors.

Instructions
Also btw, to remove the headunit you only have to do two steps, unlike what college hills shows for installing the USB hookup.
1. Remove panel directly below the fresh air/recirc lever, then look up in hole, you will see a circle cutout in the assembly and a screw in there, remove with philips screwdriver.
2. Open top glove box and using a thin flatblade screwdriver (I taped mine with painters tape and the area i was working in) insert it in the slot that's located in the upper right hand side of the head unit assembly. I had to push it in fairly far and then pry up and outward. Eventually a few clips will pop free where you can get your hand behind it and remove the headunit.
You can then unhook the connector to the hazard switch and remove the 2 philips screws securing it, you do not need to unhook any of the headunit wiring. There is plenty of room to work. Install new switch and test, reverse removal steps and you're done.
*Note: the face of the top HVAC vents will come out with the headunit.

Thanks, got to decide on springs now, Tanabe, RSR, Eibach. Not real sure yet, I want it to be low, but not dumped and definitely use a spring that improves handling not just makes the car look good.

Any one of those 3 would be great!!
RS*R Superdown coils
Tanabe DF210 coils
Eibach Sportlines ( have yet to see these... but they will more than likely be in the weeds )

I've got an idea up my sleeve I dont think anyone else will do, just trying to get all the parts together.

Not to worry, a replacement inst panel hood is $44 at Bernardi for when I eventually sell the car.
BTW switch looks good. I mean all Emergency flashers should be red!
