This is the 2nd gen subforum. The 2nd gen does have a tensioner.

In addition... the 2008 is an issue model year number depending on the market you're talking about.

The 2008 in the USDM is the same as the 2007, with both being 1st gen.

The 2008 in the JDM is different, being a 2nd gen.

And this is why the sub-forum name is a bit of a mess... with 08 in both "1st Generation (GD 01-08)" and "2nd Generation (GE 08-13)."

If you're basing GAFIT's response based on the fact that he has a 2008... then, that's a flaw. You're not restricted to only talking about the specific version you own.

As stated above...no tensioner on the GD, which we own. My Mom's GE does have a tensioner. I've done the belt on both. Neither are fun, but I most definitely prefer having the tensioner.

The GD's system in antiquated and has required a re-tighten both times after a couple hundred miles.
