Codes obtained

Ok, So I've posted a question before but I guess my problem is difficult as I've had but little response. Such is life. I'm hoping I will have better luck with this one. The check engine light is on and I wish I had a scanner but I don't . That being said, you can obtain the codes in another way. You can loop back a connection to pin 4 to pin 9 on the obd. This showed the following code of 4 dashes 7 dashes and 2 dots In repeating fashion. Where can I get a breakdown of these codes? Thanks

Most auto parts stores will read them for free including Autozone. I have no idea what your flashing lights mean.
