Buying Used: 2010 or 2012?

Hi everyone! I'm new here but have been "lurking" for a little while, reading posts and trying to learn about Fits. I'm a young adult and getting ready to purchase a Honda Fit Sport as my first car, but would like some opinions on which model year to get. Most likely I will be buying a used Fit, and the main two model years I'm considering are 2010 and 2012. The main reason I'm considering the 2010 instead of the 2012 is because I love the Tidewater Blue Metallic color and it isn't available for the 2012(not in love with any of the 2012 colors, but Vortex Blue Pearl would probably be my top pick). And being two model years older, it's also slightly cheaper. The 2012 is supposed to have a little more sound deadening though I think, which is appealing depending on how much of a difference it makes. I know there are also some other little changes, but are there really many big differences between the 2010 and 2012?

Thanks so much!
Hannah

Here's what was posted on Edmunds.com back in the day. There are some convenience features, but the added insulation to keep out road noise was the biggest upgrade for 2012. I'd go with the 2012 myself, just to insure I had the radio buttons on the steering wheel.

What's New for 2012

The 2012 Honda Fit Sport gets minor styling updates, steering-wheel-mounted audio controls and an upgraded Bluetooth system that now offers streaming audio capabilities. All Fits receive additional sound insulation for a quieter cabin.

I think 2011, 2012 and 2013 got Vehicle Stability Assist, Cruise, Remote Entry and USB audio interface. 2012 and 2013 also got a new front grille with black headlight bezels.

It depends on if you want to modify the fit or not. the 09-011 have more grill and front lip options that the 12-13. Although the 12-13 did get an upgrade in suspension so its not as stiff as the 09-11 versions.

I recently purchased a 2010, decided that route first off because of price, but second because it has more front end options compared to the 2012.

By the 2012 sport, final version of the GE8 with updates that are worth the extra money.

Thanks everyone! I forgot that the 2010 doesn't have steering-wheel mounted audio controls(except for with Navi I think), and that is another thing I was looking forward to.

As for modifying it, I'm not sure. I haven't really looked into that yet, guess I should.
