Rear wiper resting position

Hey everyone!

I just purchased a 2013 Fit Sport, and it's great so far. There's one issue, however. Does anyone know how to reset the resting position of the rear wiper? Right now it's sitting below the rear window. Do I just unbolt the rear wiper, or do I have to go in through the hatch and adjust something?

Thanks!

I just had my 07 hatch apart, I saw nothing on the motor that was adjustable so I'd assume its the arm needs loosened and turned.

Fixed! Just took off the wiper with a socket and reattached in the proper position.

For a unique look (and it keeps tree trash off) remove inner hatch panel, unbolt wiper motor, unscrew case halves, lift link bar up and rotate the gear 180°. This will make it run in reverse. Reassemble, but with wiper pointed up. Adjust arm so bottom of travel is level on window.

I know I'm super late to this forum but can anyone who's done this rear wiper mod provide some images of this process. I have no problem taking things apart... I wouldn't want to somehow mess it up putting it back together. Thanks!

Why not do the same with the fronts....both sticking straight up when off?

Meh, it's never bothered me. Looks cleaner imo.

Funny enough, Seat takes this to another level. I've always liked the look, honestly.

I guess that depends on what you/me/anyone defines as "clean."

To me, the factory position looks "clean," while the modded up position, like Steve37 said, just looks like its broken.

As for that video, I think THAT looks a lot better because it's specifically hidden. It has some benefits, like not having it getting blown around at highway speeds, but has extra steps for wiper replacements as the video shows.

I like the looks of this 'mod' more....plus it keeps both my wipers clean.

Steve. Freakin sweet.
Bet those work for keeping yuh driving straight after a drink or two.
Props for going the extra mile with the joke

The raised rear wiper, I'm told, protects from damage somewhat in places that get snowy. Not sure myself, never lived it.

It does help in the winter. Like this morning I have a half inch of frozen snow on mine.

For areas of the country with snow, keeping the stock position creates more drag and strain on the wiper motor (when there's snow accumulations on it).
With the upright position, there's far less strain on the motor when the wiper is activated.
