Auxiliary Input Issue

My AUX jack recently started giving me problems. Basically, when I try to play music through it the music sounds garbled or faint, or it often times sounds like part of the music track is just "missing."

I've tested the speakers, the audio cable, and the audio source - they don't seem to be the problem.

Anyone have any ideas? Has anyone experienced something similar?

Use some contact cleaner and insert the 3.5mm adapter in and out a few times to clean the jack

I agree. Whenever I've had poor music quality while using the AUX port, it's ALWAYS been the mini-plug connection….sometimes a dirty or funky plug tip, sometimes a funky cable itself.

Good idea, but no luck.

Does anyone know how to the find the part number for the AUX connector? I may just have to replace it.

Not an easy thing to replace. If you have the right tools it is doable. Need to remove the head unit. You need a de-soldering gun, and a replacement 5 pin 3.5mm female jack that has a dual tip/sleeve switch that's normally closed. The next issue is finding the EXACT pin out and pin pitch. Unfortunately Honda does not sell this separately. Likely if you found the right jack but a slightly different pinout you would need to adapt it.
