Oil Change Level or Tilt

I have a 2010 Sport and always do my own oil change. I've wondered if it's better to change the oil on a level surface or a tilted one? Would I get more oil out if I tilted the car towards the drain plug? What do you folks do?

I don't think it makes a huge difference. I've done both, probably tending more towards the tilt—but not for reasons of drainage as much as because driving the front wheels up my ramps gives easier access and better clearance for my drain pan (which is a bit on the tall side).

I don't think it makes a difference. Oil pans drain toward the drain plug when flat. That's just the way they're designed.

I can't "fit" under the car to change the oil unless I put the front of the car up on ramps, so mine's always been tilted a bit toward the rear. I don't think it makes much, if any, difference.

Although I can't picture the configuration in my mine, just now, (I'm old and sometimes confused), I DO KNOW that whenever I shimmy under the car, after getting the front end up a foot or so, that I ALWAYS think to myself, "WOW, how fortunate, the drain plug is situated now, to get every last drop out…better than if the car were flat!"

The rub, is than my FIT is a 2012 base model, and I don't know if your model is identical in this regard.
