Hi all. I'm John, a new guy with a sad story. My wife and I have a 2011 Honda Fit Sport we ended up with in the worst possible way. It belonged to her brother, and he passed away back in August in a sudden and unexpected manner. While taking care of his effects, moving his belongings and the car from his home in Seattle to our home in Nevada, the moving truck and his car on the dolly were stolen. We recovered the car, but because I had removed the bumper to fit it onto the dolly, the bumper was never recovered.

Moving forward, I ended up fitting a base model bumper to the car because after 2 months of searching I couldn't find a Fit bumper (and wasn't about to pay dealership pricing for a bumper, fog lights, grill, all the little add-ons). Base model bumper fit well, until I ordered this grill: 11 13 Honda Fit Sport Jazz Mugen Style Front Hood Mesh Grill ABS Grille Black | eBay

I may be missing some components on the top, I don't know, but the grill does not fit my Fit. I can't see any difference in grills between base and Sport models by searching on your forums, so I'd like to request a picture of someone's car with the hood up, taking a picture of the front area between the headlights. Maybe I can figure out why I'm having trouble getting the grill to fit and if there's other parts I need.

Thanks in advance, or if anyone seems to know whether or not I bought the wrong grill I would take that info as well.

 

The base bumper is the same for 09-13.
The sport bumper is different from 09-11, and 12-13.

The base bumper and 09-11 sport bumper share the same fitting for the grill. You unfortunately bought a 11-13 Sport grill, which is also for JDM fitment. No way it would fit your bumper. Hell, it won't even fit USDM 12-13.

Try looking for 09-11 grills..

 

Yes you will need to purchase a 2011 specific grill, the one you purchased will not work for your year.

Also be wary of buying from ebay, the sellers are notorious for putting the wrong years on products. Unless you know what your looking for you might buy the wrong part by accident.

 

I'll have to be more conscious. I hadn't considered the grill could be different between the Sport vs the Base, let alone grill changes on different models in the same year lol. Will be searching for 09-11 base grills now, sell this one on your forum for $30 in another post.
