I own a 2008 Fit Sport w/ 143,000 miles. Last week I rear ended the SUV in front of me. Needless to say, my fit lost to its trailer hitch. I only had liability coverage on it (long story on why). The airbag deployed and the radiator is busted but I was able to still drive it the last 3 miles to my house no problem. The engine does not appear to be damaged. Before the accident, KBB had it valued at $4,600 for private sale/good condition. What do you guys think I can get as a parts car? I do not plan on trying to part it out by pieces, only as a whole. I do have someone interested in it for the engine and tranny as a back up for their own Fit. All advise and opinions are welcome. Potential buyers are even more welcome. I live in Fredericksburg, VA. FYI, I plan on tearing open the front end to see how torn up it is behind the bumper.

Well it is definitely repairable. The most expensive part(s) will be the air bag(s).

After driving it 3 mile with a busted radiator the engine is probably damaged now. I would try the auction route.

when saying the radiator was busted, it was not that bad. it just slowly leaked antifreeze once I got home. My dad is a body mechanic, so I'm hoping that with him doing the labor, it might be worth putting back together.
Any thought on a price if I cant fix it and I sell it to my buddy?

 

It's several years since I attended a auction, but I would guess around $2000, But I could be way off.
