Hang hang on...Canadian details!!!! Holy cow. Is there a tire pressure monitoring system in the 2009 Canadian Fit? Also, will stability control be available and, if so, on which trim levels? Lastly, try to find out if Tidewater Blue is finally coming to Canada.

This is very exciting. Any further details you can provide on what will be offered to us in Canada would be much appreciated!

There will be two blues: one is called something like "Sapphire Metallic Blue" and the other one corresponds to a lighter blue (but it's not called "Tidewater").
VSA and pressure monitoring: sorry, I wasn't paying attention to those aspects of the car...
A few more details:
DX: A/C available as an option, steel rims.
LX: will have 15" lightweight alloy wheels (like the Civic Hybrid) and rear spoiler.
Sport: nothing different from the US sport, except no NAV

The NAV system will NOT be an option (US only).
AT: tire repair kit is standard, spare tire will be option though. Fuel econ: 7.1 L/100 city (better than the MT).
MT: spare tire is standard. Fuel econ.: 7.2L/100km city. I only care about city mileage...
Official release date: Sept. 16
Very good info, thanks for posting. I will certainly rep you up as soon as I can rep again today!

Blue Sensation is the color on the 2009 Fit shown at the Vancouver Auto show. The only other blue in the USA list, at least, is Tidewater (much lighter color). I will definitely be getting an LX so any other tidbits on that trim would be great! September 16th hey? Well that corresponds with what my dealer told me on Monday so I guess it's true. Wow, getting pretty exciting...

BTW: I did not see the Sept 16th date in writing, but my salesperson said that the date was given verbally during the presentation.

How would you convert that to MPG for the US?

During the live video presentation, Honda Canada in Vancouver was showing a White Fit. So I imagine they already have a few over there.... Maybe, I don't know...

Boy, I almost feel sorry for you! Being our "insider spy" and all. Well, since us Canadians have been given zero details on what we're getting up here, any little tidbit is very appreciated!

Now work on finding out the types of blue colors available ok? The Vancouver Auto Show had a Blue Sensation (probably your "sapphire metallic blue") but what is the name of the lighter blue? I need to know as I put in my pre-order July 18 for a "tidewater" so the sooner I can pin down my color, the sooner I'll get my car! No pressure or anything....

O.K. I'll email my sales rep. for the colors. Any other info you'd like me to ask the person?

Oh you're a great man! Yes, ask if Canada gets stability control as an option. If yes, on which trim levels? Thank you....

Exclamation Inquired about the '09 Fit

Craig-

Thank you for you interest in the 2009 Honda Fit.

To answer your question, although I have not seen the pricing on the new Fit, I would assume that there will be a nominal bump in price.

I expect to see the 2009s start trickling in the beginning of September, and I already have a fairly long interest list. We do not accept deposits on cars that have not been assiged a Vehicle Identification Number, that is, the car must actually exist before we can take a deposit. Once the '09s start being built over the next week or two, I will call my interest list, after which it's first come, first served!

Please let me know if you would like to chat further and add your name to those I will call when the '09s become available for pre-contract.

Kind regards-

David

I really hope the skyroof is available in the US or Canada. The absence of such an option is the only thing keeping it from being the front-runner for my next car purchase. (Well, that and a test drive... )

So this is the city rating right...not the combined. The canadian model should have the same engine as the US model???

The combined AT fuel economy was in the area of 6.???? L/100km. I'll re-confirm those figures in the next few days, but I'm about 99% sure they're correct.

Do you get a spare tire with a sport AT.
I have a US 09 silver sport AT on order but I really want a spare tire.
