This once again shows (IMO, anyway) that the 09 Fit is much better looking than the 07-08.

The new Fit reminds me of the FR-V we get in the UK more than a little, check these pics out!

Does anyone know what differences in size there are between the current and the '09 Fit? I haven't seen anything here other than it's a little wider...

I dig the current car but the wife thinks it's a tad too small for the both of us + the munchkin...

Changes are minimal where they're not needed, but made where they count the most.

2008 Fit

Wheelbase = 96.5"
Length = 157.4"
Width = 66.2"
Track, front = 57.3"
Track, rear = 57.1"
Curb weight, base MT = 2432 lbs
Cargo capacity = 12.7"
Rear-seat legroom = 33.7"

2009 Fit

Wheelbase = 98.4"
Length = 159.5"
Width = 63.0"
Track, front = 58.7"
Track, rear = 58.2"
Curb Weight = 2454 lbs

Rear-seat legroom = 35.3"
Cargo capacity has increased to 14.2 cubic feet by removing the spare tire.

I've read elsewhere that although the JDM model does not have a spare tire, that the USDM model *will* have it.

It does, but I mentioned it for reference.

Pricing info, ask your local dealer, check Honda's website?

If there was, it would definitely be here in the forums by now.

That front which everyone has been hating on, aka the beak, doesn't look so bad anymore. 09>rest, hands down.

Don't forget American readers, an S2000 is $50k in Canada, here ...not so much. The Fit will be much less here.

Price is definitely not because of the exchange rate that's for sure.

Your population is a lot larger, here in Canada, not so much.

PS - I wasn't serious when I stated the price.

nope, still not feeling it.....
But I did just notice the back end, its very sloped and up swung. So the rear should create less drag than the current one. GO MPG!...if it actually gets worse mpg then slap me silly and call me Suzi!

...but that front end profile....gosh...as an artist....I AM OFFENDED!!!
haahaaa....

I have to admit that telescopic steering wheel and few other things are "growing on me", but I decided to see the platypus beak for myself in person before making final judgment.

New front might be OK in person until somebody does a conversion and parks next to you! Then you will be looking for an ax or a chain saw!
We are scraping on driveways with OEM height up front never mind lowered. New car will be the same. Lets face it - it was designed as JDM/Euro spec and NA version is an afterthought.
Who ever comes up with a nice, fat skid plate will earn a fortune on us!
