In Japan, it is now a Gospel truth of some kind that the next-gen Fit will be released sometime in September but no later than late October, the latter of which is to coincide with the opening of the Tokyo Motor Show (October 26).
Pundits over there are focusing to see whether the discounts for the current generation model are picking up. Typically, a month or so before the release of next-gen anything dealerships in Japan tend to start unloading the inventory by offering good discounts. That's not yet happening. The JDM Fit is still selling very well even in its last leg, and so no special discounts are being given (by the way, you can easily get about US$1,000 off MSRP with a Fit any day of the week in Japan).

Hi
Its true. In the UK we have a magazine called Auto Express and they had pictures of the NEW Jazz. It will should be out here some time in 2008.
They have made small changes which look very good. They also had pictures of the new Jazz out on a test run early this year.
Dont forget we have had the Jazz here since early 2002.
I hope this helps.
You might see details on autoexpress.co.uk.

My new Fit will arrive in a few weeks. I really don't care that it may be replaced in '08 or '09. I recently sold a 1990 Mazda Miata. This was the first year for the Miata. Over the years numerous changes were made to the car. The new ones are probably much better cars overall, but I really enjoyed the classic looks of the first generation cars. There was something very pure about the original Miatas that is lost on the new ones.
My '90 Miata weighed 2125lbs, the latest generation is about 2650lbs. New models invaribly get heavier as new model development occurs. Look how much bigger current mini vans are compared to the original Chrysler mini van.
There are so many examples of where the original 'purity' of design is lost in subsequent model updates or ground up new versions.
The 2008 Smart is getting bigger, the new Mini's are bigger.........lots of examples here............
If cars were not constantly evolving we would still be driving Model T Fords!

1 more year. Yes we said 1 more year until the full model change of this very popular yet low production vehicle. Don't expect any major changes to this entry level vehicle for 08. The 2007 build-out is for August arrival vehicles so expect 2008 models to begin arriving in September. What you will see new for 2008 will be a few new colors. Look for Tidewater Blue Metallic (Base and Sport) and Blackberry Pearl (Sport Only). All interior colors will come with Black interiors. Taffeta White and Lunar Mist Metallic will be discontinued.

Thanks for the update Fitter. Does anyone have a link to what these 2 new colors look like? Tidewater Blue Metallic and Blackberry Pearl. According to a local Honda Employee we will be getting Taffy White and the Purple in Canada for the 2008 model. Is the Blackberry Pearl the Purple?
