2009 Fit

So. If Honda JP is making these usdm Fits now, and they are going to switch over to the new model Fit for jdm production, will that stop or drastically decrease the flow of Fits to the usdm until they get a U.S. plant up & running? It's just weird that a car company would have a spiffy new model but choose to keep producing the old model for up to 3 years for a separate market... If they increased Fit shipments to the U.S. they would sell them all - no Fits at the dealer here stay on the lot for more than a week, which is more than they can say for even the spiffy new Civics...

IMHO, I think the 07 Fit looks better than the latest design. But that's only my 2 cents. I bought the Fit over all the other Honda's because of its older look.. I didn't like the way Honda was heading with the new design of the Civic etc. I am old school... I had a 2000 Civic SiR (B16A) and I loved it, the current Fit reminds me of that platform.
I say roll out the new Fit looking like that for 08, that way it might make the 07 more rare of a vehicle since it was only made here for 1 year!

You know that the pictures are of a JAZZ, right? The car we got had to be changed to meet NA safety. Besides, there is no word that that JAZZ style would be sold here.

That picture has been around for quite some time, for months in fact. One of the captions even says "June '07 release," which just about everyone in Japan says is no longer true. Who knows how accurate the picture is, but at least we know that the release timing prediction is probably not accurate.

Same L15A motor then it seems? But then who knows what's different when it reaches USA. Clearly the bumpers will be larger when it arrives here.
Turn markers on the mirrors.
The "reverse hood wrinkle" is gone.
+0.8" wide and +2" long.
Headlamps don't bulge.
Funky clear taillights (I've never been a fan of those, but they seem popular.)
And no gas cap door.

Don't forget that sometimes the body of cars can differ in Japan and in the US. While I lived in Japan my girlfriend had a CRV, but I've never seen a CRV like it here in the States. Her CRV was very sleak and aerodynamic while the US ones still look a bit rectangular.

Those pics are a photochop. The rear handle on the left side is higher than the handle on the right side in relation to the window and wheel well.
The "Jazz" plates are flat and looking directly at you, they were pasted on there. They are not angled like they were truly on the car.
