185/60r15 on base Fit?

Looking at Michelin Defenders. Since stock is 175/65r15 I would think these would work fine. Any one have any experience with this size on Fit steelies?

Yes that size is fine. I had 185/65/15 (taller than stock), 60 sidewall is actually better but I realized this after I ordered them. I currently have 195/60/15, another size to consider which also works fine.

I always go Discount Tire Direct and put the vehicle information in and they list alternative tire sizes. I was looking at the Michelin Defenders but do not come in any size to fit my 2012 Sport in 16s. Ended up with 205/50/16 Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3.

I have 195/60/15 from General Tire (Altimax series)

Only a pound heavier then factory, MUCH better ride and tire quality.

Look up the tire weight of the ones you picked out.

Extra weight takes its toll on our lightweight cars!

It appears Sears carries 185/60r15, 185/65r15, and 195/60r15 in this tire. It is a low rolling resistance tire. Haven't checked weights yet, just going on reviews so far, and this tire has good reviews ...

I do like the Michelin Defender 90k warranty if that was possible the tire would last me at least almost 4 years. The tire is Consumer Reports top all season tire. Excellent tread wear.

Ditto what everybody else says...185/60R15 works just fine, as does 195/60R15. One ends up being a tiny bit smaller diameter than the stock tires, the other an equally tiny bit larger diameter.

I'm currently using 185/60R15 tires on my 2012 base Fit, as a matter of fact.

so going with the 185s would help with the weight issue.

After looking at Tire Rack specs and reviews on both the Michelin Defender and the General Altimax HP, I ended up ordering the Michelins on Tire Rack, and having them sent to a tire shop a few minutes away from my house. Both tires weighed the same for 185/60r15. The Michelin had better reviews. Time will tell ...
