Surfboard crashes through windshield
HONOLULU (AP) — A Hawaii man has some scratches on his face and arms after a surfboard crashed through his windshield as he was driving along a Honolulu freeway.
Jerrin Ching tells KHON-TV he was driving on the H-1 freeway Sunday when the surfboard came out of nowhere, pierced through the glass and came inches from his face.
Ching says he feels grateful to be alive.
Witnesses tell police the red board fell off an overpass and bounced off a school bus.
It's not known who the 10-foot-long surfboard belongs to.
Ching is hoping the owner claims it and pays for the damage to his girlfriend's 2011 Honda Fit.

My sister and a few other relatives kinda believe in the opposite... that there's a kind of balance to fortune and misfortune.
Best time to buy a lotto ticket is when all kinds of shit happens to you. lol
I kinda believe there's a balance, but good or bad, I think you can't "control" it (ie buying a ticket after shit happens)... it comes when it comes.

holy crap! I've always worried about this carrying my surfboards around but have never seen it happen. In my 15 years of surfing I've had my surfboard fly off my roof once. It was on the highway and my racks failed. The plastic 'holder' piece snapped on my thule surfboard carrier. Luckily there wasn't anyone immediately behind me and the surfboard flipped around in the air until landing in the median. That was the last time I trusted any surfboard carrier system and have since only used cinch straps. That guy is lucky.

Wow... Damn kids throwing things off the over pass. One time I had a rock thrown from an over pass, just missed it. Glad to see everything is okay. Owner aint claiming squat. Just the way it goes. "I hit your car, you arent around, well then it never really happened right". Its the attitude people take unless you catch me in the act.
