Hey make lemonade out of lemons. There is an episode on Mythbusters where they put thousands of pounds of clay worth a lot of money onto a car and made dimples like that to test if a dimpled surface like a golf ball on a car would result in better gas mileage and speed.

AND IT DID get better mileage and speed. So you got the same thing for FREE.

Yeah, that plus I turn 50 next year. Nuff said?

I offered them $24,700 for the FR-S and they said they don't negotiate on Scions. Where's the fun in that? Screw 'em! I'm gonna go buy a Civic Si tonight. Probably should've stuck with Honda all along.

FRSs and BRZs are high-demand items for now. They mostly come in pre-ordered already. So there goes your negotiating leverage...

yep they said no negotiating on the price, and no test drives off the lot either, like the WRX

They had 4 of them on the lot, and I've only ever seen 1 on the streets, so I don't think demand if the issue here. Apparently this is a company-wide policy.

Oh well, the Si is a hell of a lot nicer on the inside. If only they weren't so stodgy looking. For Chrissakes, my 17 y/o daughter drives a Civic.

I've never paid sticker for a car in my life, and I'm damned sure not starting today.

I've heard that if the surface of a car had dimples all over it like a golf ball, it would have less wind resistance.
I would take the ball peen hammer to it and see!

Test drove a 2013 Civic Si tonight. ZZZzzzzzz.... Total snoozefest. Nothing wrong with it, but it's just another soulless grocery getter. It felt dead, even compared to my Fit. Which is precisely how I ended up with a Fit in the first place. Went to buy a Civic, but test drove a Fit first out of curiosity. The rest is history.

I don't know what I'm going to do now. I could afford the FR-S, but won't buy it now just on principle.

And yes, my post was just to say this pointless crap too.

edit: I stand corrected... did not say it first... just said it before the other guy. (damn, I wish there was a strike through font option... makes the edit easier).

Update-

They totaled the Fit and gave me $14,355 for it. I only paid $16,750 for it brand new in 2009, so needless to say I'm quite happy.

The salvage value on it was $5769, so I bought it back and sold it to my friend for his daughter for that amount. They are coming to pick it up tomorrow night. Meanwhile, I went ahead and bent over and paid sticker for the FR-S, $25,704. No regrets so far. I'm having a ball driving it!

They don't want my PRM Racing CAI, so I'll sell it here. Anyone interested? PM me. I'll sell it for $150 plus shipping from 73003. I think I even still have the original box somewhere...
