Possible to change blinker style to momentary 3 blink?

I've driven several new cars lately (wife's new Accord - rentals) and the trend seems to be the momentary blinker stalk, where when you 'blip' it, the blinker automatically just blinks 3 times and then turns itself off.

After being in cars that have this, I've grown to really like it. I'm wondering if it's possible to mod the Fit by simply changing out a blinker relay or something relatively simple.

Anyone know how this feature is implemented on other cars? Is it all done via the blinker relay or by the car's computer?

how lazy are we becoming?

jokes aside, does the turn signal stop even while you're waiting to make a turn?

My wife's car has this and I kind of like it, good for lane changes. You can lock it in position to keep the blinker on if you're turning.

In for info, if Euro Jazz has it wonder if it's as simple as changing out the relay plug and play?

Rooivalk,

If you wouldn't mind, could you look to see the part number of your flasher relay?
If this does NOT have anything to do with the relay, then I would highly suspect that the Fit and Jazz would have the same relay.

What model/trim Jazz do you have?

according to this http://www.hondapartsnow.com/Page_Pr...=17365 1255622
The USDM Fit's turn signal lever is 35255-TA0-C42

I found a European model with the front fogs (as we have in the USDM), and one of their part #'s for that turn signal lever is 35255-TA0-H41 B-11 Combination switch for 2009 Honda Jazz, 5MT transmission - Auto parts

It's also cross-referenced on some google searches with this part 35255-TA0-G11

It might be as simple as just switching the lever... but not sure how the other features will affect it(ie. some models don't have the front fogs standard, some have rear fogs, some have auto-sensing headlights, etc, etc, etc), and that's if it's just a matter of replacing the lever.

I have this on my Caravan and I find three blinks is not sufficient to wake up the people yakking on cell in the lane you are moving to.

I make an effort and just hold the lever up til I have made my change.
