26k here.

This dealer has always been great with me. Drove it home from dealership and it's running great!

I'm going to pick it up this afternoon. The service advisor said that's all it was and that they took it on extended test drive to make sure all is good.
Glad to hear you're good to go. Now you can go over 40mph. Just seems a bit premature for that switch to go out on your Fit though.

I asked the service advisor and he said that it isn't typical repair, but they have replaced them before. He said it could have been defective part. He seemed pretty confident it wouldn't happen again. I'm going to trust the repair.

Good deal they got it done. Now the "shark" can get back on the road scaring people out of the water.

Sorry had to do it... every time I see your avatar I think "JAWS".

It's really not that hard to replace in case there's a next time...

I wonder if adding a good size external oil cooler would do the transmission some good, i find myself sitting in traffic in hot weather and im sure my tranny isnt happy.

Probably not necessary under normal use, even in traffic. Otherwise, more Freaks would've posted about this.

But here's a thread from kng229. He put an ext. cooler on before his trip from VA to CA pulling a Uhaul trailer: https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/gene...ailer-fit.html

Im just saying since Honda doesn't exactly have the best reputation for auto gearboxes, im sure taking away some heat could help extend the life of the trans a bit.

I have a 2010 Honda Fit Sport/NAV AT with same issue. Honda cleared the code and it hasn't come back on. I have 45,000 miles on it and last month I had the transmission service completed on it from Honda. I think for my vehicle the part number 28600-RG5-003.
Honda Automotive Parts

I think this a different part that you used.

My 2010 GE had this same problem but it was fixed by flushing the A/T fluid and now everything shifts smoothly

I was thinking the worst, but dealership service says it was just a 3rd gear pressure switch that failed. Part was not in stock and had to leave vehicle. It will be ready tomorrow. Thinking about it now, I believe it might have been slowly failing. There were times in the last month or so that I felt the car was having trouble shifting out of third and this was just normal driving. I by no means beat on the car. I drive it to get the most mpg out of it, which is more grandpa like.

I thought it might have been the grade logic Steve was talking about, but it would happen at times and other times it wouldn't.

Anyway, this is just a heads up if it should happen to anyone else.

Hi.

Thanks for this message.

My Honda City seems to be having the same issue, engine light on, D blinking etc.

Hope its nothing major...

Regards,

Nram.

if you’re experiencing the same symptoms, more than likely it’s the pressure switch. It’s been nearly 7 years since this repair and no issues since. Please keep us updated and let us know what your dealer finds.
