Swift Springs/Wheel Fitment Question

Swift Springs/Wheel Fitment Question
Question for Fellow Fits running Swift Springs...
I'm considering a wheel set that has a 40 offset.
If I do so, which is the better choice?
205/40/17 or 195/45/17
Are they both viable options?

There is a great thread here that directly addresses your question: https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...ire-specs.html
Seems like This is the closest to your ask:
bl_arias | '10 MT | Swift | Tenzo DC-5 17x7 +42 | Continental ExtremeContact DWS 205/45-17 | Absolutely no rubbing at all so far
I would encorage you to use an online calculator here to compare as well : Custom rims, wheel tire packages for your ride - RIMSnTIRES.com
Don't forget to try and get something as close to the original diameter of the 185/55R16 Dunflops which were 24.0 on the nose. A 205/45R17 will be 24.3 inch diameter and your speedo will only be off about 1% at 60mph vs a 205/40R17 which is 23.5" which would make your speedo off 2.3% (58mph when it read 60, also adding extra miles to you clock!) The 195/45R17 is even closer at 23.9" (off only 0.4%) but that extra contact patch and mechanical grip of the 205 would most likely be more fun

Is that also running swifts?
From what I read here... I didn't think I'd be able to run a 205/45/17 on a wheel with a 40 offset? (On swifts)

Kenchan,
Do you rub at all running that size. I have a AT so I'm concerned about rubbing, if I run that size. ( AT sits .25" lower in the front)
The 205 45 17 may be pushing it on a wheel with a 40offset.
Thoughts?

i just ordered +38 17x7.5 rim and a set of Swifts for my GE8 sport!! i am thinking of running 225/45 rubber? Any problems? What is the ideal rubber for that rim? I live in NY (potholes everywhere) so i would like to keep close to stock rim/tire sidewall ratio, if ya know what i mean lol. i am thinking i might have to have to slightly roll the fenders, which is ok, especially if i want the beefier rubber. Does anyone anticipate any clearance issues on the INSIDE of the wheel/tire? Spacers necessary?
