There isn't a vehicle that's chip proof. Don't worry about the chips and enjoy your Fit.

Where the hell are you driving that you get so many rocks flying at your car in the first place? Serious question.

Paint chips are part of everyday driving. The dark color doesn't help hide them either. Options as I see it's really bothering you:
(1) Don't drive it.
(2) Live with it.
(3) Shop around for a bra or look around for clear film bras or shops that do it.
Take it light, Life's too short!

fix the chips, then have the same place clear coat the living hell out of the hood. then wax it really well to give the rocks a chance of slinging off instead of smacking bits of the paint off

Plastidip it or put on some vinyl (not clear since you already have chips) a bra will only damage your hood more.

You should have got the dealership to throw in a 3M deal for the hood, fenders, and side mirrors. I drive a nhbp Fit, and I really don't care about the rock chips anymore since the roads in my city are stupid. If I ever decide to go for a repaint, I will definitely 3M my whole front end.

Probably too late to install a clear bra without repainting the whole hood.

I saw a mudflap on a dump truck once that said "If you can read this you're stupid. This is a dump truck. It carries rocks!"

Maybe a front deflector would help guard against future damage?

I am almost 4 yrs old and have had maybe 5 or 6 very tiny chips in bumper and only one small one on the hood. I do not tailgate and hood deflector helps.

And so far no dings in the sides or rear

Me too. My Fit is 4 years old with no chips or dings. The only "flaw" is the lower side of the lip is scraped when I mis-judged a curb but it cannot be seen

its going to happen, especially in the NE. Get a magnet bra for the hood, and forget the front bumper...I have quite a few there and keeping it clean and waxed helps minimize the look of the chips but I should have 3m'd it when I first got it.

Unfortunately when your in girid locked traffic going 10 under the speed limit, and the line of cars in front of you is not passing said dump truck, there is not much you can do.

IMO these trucks should be prohibited from the highway during rush hours.

I have tons of rock ships all over my hood. It sucks, but its the nature of the beast when you do highway driving.

not sure if serious about banning trucks from roadways

they are professional drivers. they arent jackass kids or soccer moms beating the shit out of the kids in the backseat.
