How to disable VSA (traction and stability control) without TPM sensors installed.

^^^I don't think they did the MAC support.... but you can just that program, and run Win7 from there.
I'm a MAC user too.
Gotta look in to that... I was looking at the track in South NJ. Thanks.

or do i just make another folder in my computer and 'add' a car, or ..??
i own 4 cars that run tpms so i want to be able to swap between different cars if i ever buy the unit.

I haven't tried it yet, since I only have 2 sets to swap, but I've read for other users they have the program set up on different flashdrives and that will allow you to set it up with as many cars as you have. It might work in the different folders as you mentioned, but I haven't tried that yet.
btw I forgot the name of the Mac program, but I guess you know what I meant & you have to install Win7. I can take a look when I get home... for the life of me it always slips my mind.... I tell ya one thing, I never seen Windows run so fast as it does on a Mac...
oh, and as an FYI there's a seller selling 4 TPMS sensors for ~70 on ebay, and they work with no issues as reported by other Honda owners... you do have to have the shop install the washer, etc... but a lot less expensive than the OEM ones.
70 for the sensors + 150 for the ATEQ = 220 for unlimited tire swaps... the savings is much more if you have multiple vehicles or wheel set ups.

FWIW, on the track you're better off disabling VSA. Leaving it on will cause the car to brake or mess with engine speed to recover from some microprocessor-perceived loss of traction issue that may be intentional on your part and ultimately upset the balance of the car. I autocrossed my car yesterday with VSA off and it was rock solid.

I will say, that braking on an uneven surface (they are repaving the track this week) from 80mph, into a left hander, made the car shimmy quite a bit. Need to figure out why.

Sorry to bump an old thread but has anyone else tried this and have it work?? I just tried it on my 2013 Sport and after about 2 miles vsa is still on.
Edit: oops. Saw the 10 mile thing. I'll try again
edit: vsa still on at 10 miles and 20 miles.

Does unplugging the module work on the 12-13 fits? Or is it only for prior years, and will it work normally if i plug it back in
#32
yeah, but my problem is that i dont have tpms sensors in my new rims and you cant disable vsa unless you have synced sensors wich really sucks for me cuz my fit is auto and my stick car is down right now and i was hoping i could get a small spin out during the rainy season lol

I had assumed the opposite: If the TPMS system not working and/or wheel sensors not working / installed at all then the VSA would not work and the VSA Warning Light coming on indicating the the system is disarmed.
The way I think about it (might totally be wrong) is that VSA is monitoring the difference in RPMs between the front drive wheels to determine if one is spinning faster that the other because it has lost grip. Then the VSA system applies the brake to the faster spinning wheel, so power is shifted the wheel that has grip. The VSA automatically gets disabled if the TMPS system isn't working (dead sensors or no sensors on wheels) because one wheel could be spinning faster than the other simply because there is less air pressure in one tire than the other, and therefore smaller diameter / spinning faster.

Should work on all 09-13. And it should work normally when you plug it back in. But don’t blame me if it doesn’t for some reason lol. I’ve done it a few times though.

Another thing that might work would be to swap some 2011 parts onto a 2012 right? Does anyone know what parts need to be swapped for VSA to be off without TPMS? Please help! I really cannot have VSA for track days

Found some solutions
So I did find the module plug. It's pretty big and a bit intimidating to unplug but I tried it and went out for a drive and it seems to work. The ABS and BRAKE and VSA lights will stay on.
Even better news is Tirerack offers TPMS for wheels now! So 2012+ owners can have VSA off while still having ABS with aftermarket wheels

whitefitsport - That engine bay looks clean enough to eat off of. My aluminum is all cover with spots from wet road salt spray (Pennsylvania). Curious, as noted earlier, I can toggle my VSA switch off/on with the '11 Sport. I'm assuming that whether VSA is off or on, the ABS system is still working. Is that wrong to assume? Also, what changed in those systems between 2011 and 2012+ models? Thx

Haha thanks! I just bought it recently and everything is like brand new! It had 1 previous owner who really babied it and has only 27k miles
You're right about ABS still working whether VSA is on or off. The only difference between 2011 and 2012 models comes in play when TPMS is gone. There is a way to disable just VSA in the pre-2012 models by disconnecting the plug behind the VSA button, but that doesn't work for the 2012+ ones for some reason.
