Any recommendations on spacer kits for an 09 Sport with stock wheels, tires and springs?

I've searched the forums, but seem to only find info on spacers combined with aftermarket wheels and lowered springs. I'm not planning to change my height (SF steep grade changes) or new wheels (yet). Just looking for the wider stance and look without rub.

Without a load from what I gather 15mm rear/ 10 front

 

friendly safety reminder... anything bellow 5mm slip-in spacer will do but anything over that, you want bolt-on

 

Thanks guys - only additional load would be from 2 bikes on the hitch rack. I'll def go bolt-on.

 

I'm not sure what the offset is on the stock wheels but if you can get that... you can space it out to +42 and you should be good

 

You can easily run 20-25mm spacers on the back with stock wheels and 10-15mm in front. My Kosei wheels are 29mm more aggressive then stock wheels are they don't rub even loaded with 800lbs of Costco water.

 

with a 15mm bolt on spacer in the front do the studs stick out above the surface of the spacer or is it below the surface?

I don't want to shave studs but if that is the case I guess extended studs +10mm slip on it is.

 

The proper way to do it is to use a hub centric spacer that comes with longer hub bolt studs you have to press into the hub. I don't recommend adapter style spacers that have studs pressed already in for that reason above alone. You would need at least a 20mm spacer for the hub bolt to come flat with the hub surface.

 

Grab a ruler/tape measure.

See how many inches/fractions of inches you have to gain.

Multiply that number by 25.4

Order that size spacer.

Order new, longer wheelstuds.

 

You mean divide that # by 25.4 so you can get it in mm, otherwise youll have a huge ass spacer lol.

1 in = 25.4 mm

1*25.4 = 25.4

If there's 0.5" gap, 0.5x25.4 = 12.7 mm

I went with Ichiba Hubcentric spacers 20mm front and 30 mm rear with Swift lowering springs. No rubbing rear but the front rubs occasionally on harder hits. Looks very flush.

 

Cant beat H&R hubcentric spacers, I highly recommend them. You need to install the included longer studs as well.

 

just remember that most shops will often not re-install non-factory spacers because it is a liability for them. I was at a tire shop yesterday and heard them talking about it.

 

anyone know if the stock wheels on an 09 sport have the recessed area on the back...so we don't have to shave down the existing studs?
