Lightweight wheels worth it?

Picked up a 2013 Fit Sport last night and love the car. Seems slow though on takeoff but that was to be expected. My buddy has racing hart cp035rs that weigh 11.1 with powder coat finish. Saw the sort rims are 16ish. Anybody notice a difference in ziyness or fuel mileage? Looking to possibly picked them up this weekend. Also it is an automatic.

If anything pick them up because CP035 are CRAZY COOL.

Or tell me what he wants for them and I'll take them

They are 16x7 +25 black and he was asking $800 but will deal to get some goodies for his tl-s. My thing is i like polished wheels on my milano red vehicles but the weight savings could benefit me.

Your kidding

Weight savings, fuel economy, heat dissipation. Just buy them for the real reason, you think they are cool and you want them!

I could go into a lack of self esteem that makes people think that cool wheels will make them appear as a better person to the world, that chick's will want them. Same thing with people who buy LeBron X's. I won't though as some people get offended.

As a man who rolls on wheels which are a bit over 5lbs lighter over the stock setup on each corner its totally worth it but don't do it for gas mileage, but more for performance.

OP, worth would be a matter of reference point and personal preference. I tend to agree with what Mini said... Though really, how much added performance/improved gas mileage can you get with just wheels... on a Fit. Realistically, one negates the other...

So just watch out for those self-esteem issues and those chicks... Good luck! Your choice.

Not a huge impact on gas mileage but the Fit does accelerate a bit quicker with lighter wheels and handles nicer over bumpy roads where the rear used to skip around turns.

If you're going racing lightweight wheels matter but not otherwise. Tires on the other hand do matter as the weight is farher from the hub center. Like any torque measure the farther the weight from the center of rotation the harder it is to turn the wheel. Saving a pound on the tire is worth 2 pounds on the wheel. So the lightweight wheel won't be that valuable in acceleration or in mpg.Besides 11 lb is OK but until you get to 9lb or less they aren't really lightweight.
No matter how good looking they are you should know that an offsert of 25mm is way too little for the Fit; stay around 45mm. And did you verify the bolt pattern at 4x100mm and the hub bore?

Yeah I think I am going to pass on these for a polished wheel when the time for mods is right.

I am sure that the stock wheels weigh alot more than 11 pounds; maybe 18 pounds ?

So by reducing the mass at the wheels makes the easier to get up to speed thus increasing the fuel mileage.

Extra weight counts anywhere on the car.

Someone on ebay was selling 16" HFP gunmetal wheels for $399 for a full set of 4. I think seller was Tobaccoroadauto something.

16" Honda HFP Wheels Rims Fits Honda Fit Civic Del Sol CRX Acura Integra | eBay

I personally went with 16x7.5 Kosei K4R wheels for $159 each, these are hella light for the money. Quality is awesome too SSF (made in Japan), cant beat it for the money.
