Some luck I've got...

I finally get around to replacing my broken fog lamp, and three weeks later this happens:

Had that rock gone just one hundreth of an inch higher it would have hit my wiper and I'd never have known. This happened at a pretty convenient time, actually because I'm going to the bank Monday for a loan to buy the car, and I'll just add the cost of this to it. Speaking of which, I was expecting something like 500 dollars, so I was happy when it came back with taxes and fees to $340.

Just hate having that happen. I've got some pretty hard hits on mine but no cracks so far.

Same thing with me, if it had hit literally 1/100 inch to the left I would have never cracked the windshield, it hit EXACTLY on the corner

Where'd you get your quote from? Safelite quoted me ~$500 to replace. Is that just for the windshield or installation too?

I got glass replacement on my policy never used it until 2011 when I had to replace my windshield on the Corolla twice in the same year. The second time I was actually glad to get it replaced the first installer did not seal it properly and would leak when we got a heavy rain. My only experience with Honda was with my first Honda a Element which was noted for crack windshields.

Its 308.95 before taxes and disposal, including labor. (9% tax, 9.99 disposal) They want an extra 24.99 for them to drive to me (44 miles) but I could make that trip 3 times for that cost.

Could have been worse. When the Pt Cruiser was new a replacement wimdshield was 1800 dollars. My dad had a semi truck tire explode in front of him and put a windshield wide crack in it, cost a shitload to replace.

Yea... my mini cooper was INSANELY expensive. Especially for a car that really hasn't changed its windsheild for nearly 10 years.
