Whistling Sound in My Fit

Whistling Sound in My Fit
Hello All
First time poster here. I own a 2010 Honda Fit that I have been very happy with. Just today though my engine started making a strange noise.
It is a kind of a high pitched whistling sound, sort of like air escaping, coming from the left side of the engine (if I am standing in front of the car with the hood up). The sound is there when the car is idling and it gets louder and more intense when I hit the gas. It's incredibly loud. It's really hard to tell where the noise is coming from exactly but it is certainly on the left side of the engine.
I looked at the hoses in the area and they all seem solid. The car only has about 20,000 miles on it. The belt around the alternator seems solid too just from a visual inspection.
Dirty valves maybe?
I think I'm going to take it into the dealership but before I do I'd like to get some opinions on what you all think it might be.

Yeah, or a intake hose so check all hoses, big or little connecting to the engine. And don't assume its a loose fitting, many leaks are cracks in the hose itself so feeling along the hose to see if the sound changes is necessary.

If it's not the belt, my guess is an idler pulley bearing gone bad. I'm not sure how the drive belt is wound in GEs, but on GDs there's an idler pulley hanging off the side of the engine block that adds tension to the belt.
Both have happened to me fairly recently but are easy fixes.
