New Honda FiT 2013 owner, and new to threads :)

Hey Everyone!

Kimmi here. new to the forums
I'm from the Bay Area, California and just purchased my first car on my own on October 25th- A 2013 Honda Fit Sport A/T in Alabaster Silver Metallic. My previous car was a 2001 Honda Civic LX (in plum color) which finally died on me. I was without a car for 4 months until I finally bought my new fit! I've put 444 miles on it so far and it IS so fun to drive. I plan on tinting the windows this week (I'll post photos after)

Here's a link to a photo of it - I'll post better photos when I can.

Anyways - glad to be here and to see a lot of people actively posting.

Hello and Welcome! Sounds like you're pretty stoked about being a Fit owner which is awesome cause they're great cars for the price. The only thing that stumped me here was the fact that an only 11 year old Honda Civic died. Accident? Honda's don't die unless they're severely neglected!....even then I've seen them keep going! lol.

It only gets better with age! Looks like a San Leandro Honda dealer plate too.

As for my old Honda Civic 2001, there was something wrong with the engine, but it was really time for a new car. I already had the radiator replaced once before. (yea i had to take care of it better)

Anyways I got the windows of my car tinted this past weekend.
All except the front drivers side and passenger (due to the laws being so strict in california.) The shop I went to originally recommended 50% on those front windshields but when I actually went in for the appointment the guy doing the windows said its on me... sometimes people get pulled over right after they get them done he says, so I'd rather not risk getting a ticket.

Here's a quick picture- sorry for the dirty car, it just rained last week !
20% on the rear sides and hatch,
30% on the rear passenger sides

Oh right on! Yeah I am also guilty of not taking the best care of the maintenance on my last car too! (1994 Accord Wagon LX) But those 90s Honda's, while reliable they still have a ton of odd ball issues! There's a sensor for everything, which probably makes them more reliable but can be a headache. Your Fit is looking good! I went 20% tint on all the doors including the blind spot windows, a 5% windshield strip, and 5% on the back windows and hatch window. So mine's quite illegal and black! Although I know someone that went 2.5% on all windows minus the windshield! Which is insane!!

yeah front tints are illegal here too in NJ, however new dealer inspection stickers last 5 years and they aren't strict at the inspection station anymore. so i figure i can get away for 5 years before i have to peel them off.
