Damn...i'm worried now. Should I take the delivery later this week? How do we check if there was any water damage to the car?

The dealer won't sell you a water damaged car and there's no way they'd be able to clean one out in time if you swing by in the next day or two.
One quick check and you're all set. no Worries.

Swing by the dealer lot to see if the cars are wet.... there hasn't been time to clean up yet and you'll know if the dealer lot was under water.

I've only spent a week or so with a Focus, as a rental car on a work trip. I must say though, I was pretty blown away by it. It definitely raises the bar for the C-class cars.
Smooth power, great road feel, solid construction. The interior quality has no doubt eclipsed Honda, Toyota, and probably anyone else trying to fight a rising Yen to make a profit. The surprising part is that (aside from rear seat space), it's better in every way than the Fusion I had as a rental a few months before.
Which would would be more reliable remains open. The Fit is no doubt a solid car. The Focus has been plagued by complaints, but mostly relating to the tricky-to-learn computer system (yeah, I think Ford may have sh*t the bed on that one), and the PowerShift transmission. The powershift felt wonderful to me... It's the first Automatic that didn't feel like an automatic to me. It seems that most drivers who have no experience with manuals want the dual-clutch to feel like a slushbox with a torque converter.
YMMV.

Nice job! Be sure to review the car before picking it up form the dealer for sure. I've been happy with mine after owning it for 1+ months now. I drove mine on a 1800 mile trip with a few hundred pounds of stuff in the back (move).
The auto is/was fine. Once it gets up to speed you won't have any problems.
As for the Auto vs CVT debate, I was VERY happy with my Mini unfortunately any time you touched the mini for maintence it was between 500-1000.
I test drove both and favored the Fit as far as long term maintence. Just wish they had better brakes. Maybe a Wilwood kit is in the future. Have a good one and post up pics when you get it.
